Educational Requirements:
∎ Diploma in Fishery/ Agriculture/Livestock(Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Medicine).Should also have adequate knowledge on the following matters:-
∎ an understanding of pasture management
∎ knowledge of the milking process
∎ knowledge of milk company standards and safe farming practices
∎ business and accounting skills
∎ an understanding of sustainable environmental management practices.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for entire livestock farms operations & Breeder management.
∎ Supervise and coordinate herd, technicians, and the day to-day operation of the dairy and upkeep of the facilities.
∎ The ability to drive, operate and maintain farm machinery
∎ Good animal-handling skills and an understanding of animal welfare and health issues
∎ Regular follow-up and monitoring, prepare project report, case studies and documentation of best practices, liaison with project head and different research organizations.
∎ Organize herd tests
∎ Plan and manage the food cows eat
∎ Manage the health, breeding and mating of cattle, and the raising of calves
∎ Carry out general maintenance such as fencing and spraying weeds
∎ Keep financial and farming records, and organize the farm business plan
∎ Employ and train people to work on the farm
∎ Interact with vets, farm advisers and other contractors
∎ Follow health and safety and wellbeing procedures
∎ Examine animals to detect & determine the nature of diseases or injuries.
∎ Implement, monitor, and evaluate agriculture programs that encompass a range of activities such as natural resource management & agribusiness.
∎ Keep up to date with new farm technology, and ways to make the dairy farm more environmentally sustainable.
∎ Extensive field visit Propose a technical approach, financial layout and logistics for the activities.
∎ Ensure that the appropriate technical support is provided to beneficiaries.
∎ To handle health maintenance program & establish guidelines for Good Health Management encompassing vaccination, medication.
∎ To handle disinfection & bio-security program, supervising and following up on different types of vaccines methods like: vaccinating with spraying, drinking water, subcutaneous & intramuscular injection & its laboratory tests.
∎ Any other responsibility as and when assigned by the management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 35 years
∎ Only males are allowed to apply
∎ The applicant should be self-driven to work under pressure, result oriented with 'can do' attitude and ability to work sincerely and independently.
∎ Must be computer literate, preparing the reports in words, excel, PowerPoint etc.
∎ Applicant should have the capability to supervise & monitoring of the daily activities of staffs.
