Job Context:
∎ The Counselor will be responsible for providing psychosocial support and counselling to the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) victims. The job holder provides quality client centered health services through supporting counselling and linkages to support services to survivors of gender Based Violence in Primary Health facilities and counselling in the delivery of HIV/PMTCT (upon approval).
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, nurses, psychologists, education professionals within the Primary Health Care settings and in cooperation with other professionals like those involved in Clinical Management of Rape
∎ Participate in any assessments that may be conducted by the organization, GBV sub sector and wide humanitarian response in support of adding to the evidence base of practice in the Rohingya refugees’ settings.
∎ Represent JRRP in MHPSS Technical Working Group and Task forces, as may be required, upon approval from the Medical Coordinator.
∎ Participate in documenting gaps, bottlenecks and challenges, planning, monitoring and evaluating of protection and social work activities in the health facilities and catchment area;
∎ Provide technical guidance, on the job training, coaching and mentoring to the health workers team on GBV minimum standards;
∎ Track capacity building needs of staff members and establish to improve counselling skills among health workers at the health facility.
∎ Interview patients and relatives with social needs;
∎ Offer counselling, social care and emotional therapy to patients and other persons;
∎ Carry out home and follow-up visit to patients;
∎ Provide social work services with linkages to relevant protection/referral pathways.
∎ Maintain patient data in a confidential manner;
∎ Compile and submit technical and performance reports to the relevant authorities.

∎ Medical fitness to live and travel in rural and urban areas with extreme conditions and limited medical support;
∎ Ability to work in insecure locations.
