Educational Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic, and administrative needs of patients.
∎ Actively promote the availability of counselling services and carry out individual or group counselling basic psychoeducational sessions to patients and their families (when needed) to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.
∎ Refer patients to other specialists or institutions for further assistance when necessary to propose the best support available.
∎ Participate in the creation of any material needed for counselling activities and look after it.
∎ Maintain files statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss challenging or special cases with other counsellors, preserving confidentiality.
∎ Inform line manager of any problem arising during the day-to-day activities.
∎ Take an active part in training, supervisions/interventions, and support the Activity Manager, when necessary, in sensitization for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.
∎ Discuss difficulties and problems in counselling with the supervisor.
∎ To adhere to all mental health ethical standards, including doing no harm, serving the beneficiary's best interest, confidentiality, informed consent, and respect for beneficiaries’ choices.
∎ To attend and actively participate in staff meetings, case discussions, clinical supervision, and training.
∎ To manage time in a manner that facilitates timely follow-up with beneficiaries.
∎ To collect and maintain data on all psychosocial and counselling activities on a weekly/monthly basis and produce timely reports to the supervisor.
∎ To provide information on relevant mental health issues (sensitization) and cope with and manage possible mental health distress (psycho-education).
∎ To identify beneficiaries who need Psychological First Aid (PFA) and link links who need medical or mental health assistance to appropriate services.
∎ To assess the patient’s mental health and psychosocial needs and collaboratively develop a treatment plan.
∎ To provide therapeutic individual and group counselling that will reduce symptoms, enhance adaptive coping strategies, and improve patient’s functioning.

Salary:
∎ Tk. 47477 - 56972 (Monthly)
∎ Monthly salary according to level 5 of the internal MSF salary grid, which is 47,477 BDT gross. Two annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents.
