Educational Requirements:
∎ Part qualification in a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, preferably specializing in Finance or Accounting Management.
∎ Chartered Financial Analyst certification is of advantage.

Job Context:

∎ Reports to: Director
∎ Position Overview: The Cost Controller is responsible to control the cost of inventories and ensures that cost of sales are controlled within the budget. The individual`s main responsibility includes: inventory count, stock variance analysis, spot check, supplier`s price list comparison and inventory valuation.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Plan and conduct monthly stock count to all stock locations including outlets and investigate the variance against the system balance. Any unusual variances should be brought to the attention of Director of Finance.
∎ Prepare stock variance report supported with physical inventory count and system generated report.
∎ Monitor and ensure that all slow moving and non-moving inventory are identified at all location and implement action plan.
∎ Conduct daily beverage spot check at all outlets and agree the count to the system balance.
∎ Trace the minibar consumption against sales and investigate the variances on a monthly basis.
∎ Monitor and check the menu pricing and cost on the POS systems agree with the cost in inventory system. Changes in the menu pricing should be approved by Executive chef and Director of Finance.
∎ Prepare daily Food and Beverage cost report and distribute to Guidance Team.
∎ Ensure that inventories are recorded at net realizable value. A minimum of 20 key items should be checked weekly on alternating stock categories to ensure that actual stock value agree to the supplier's current value. Any discrepancies should be investigated and update the system value with the approval of Director of Finance.
∎ Conduct Suppliers' prices comparison for inventories. A minimum 20 key items price should be compared with three alternatives suppliers on a weekly basis.
∎ Prepares Cost of sales value for month end process and ensure that the costs are within budget.
∎ Monitor the food & beverage inventory turnover and determine the par stock level.
∎ Build strong relations with all guests, noting special attention to the resort's VIPs and return guests to ensure long lasting guest loyalty
∎ Handles and report any complaints and resolving service 'glitches', keep a record of all feedbacks under the appropriate system. Ensure that the issues are resolved in a timely manner to guests' satisfaction.
∎ Report any issue or damages and breakdowns within working areas and the hotel to ensure a defect-free facilities and service amenities provided.
∎ Maintain strong working relationships with other departments to ensure effective communications for operational issues, serves as a role model for inter-departmental collaboration and support.
∎ Perform other duties or responsibilities that are reasonable as assigned by your immediate supervisor or manager.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum two (3) years in a similar role in a luxury hotel / resort.
∎ Competent computing skills (e.g. Microsoft Office) with a sound knowledge in inventory system.
∎ Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, a team player and good at cultivating strong guest relations.
∎ Good command in spoken and written English.
∎ Excellent complex problem-solving skills.
∎ Strong organizational skills & detail-oriented.
