Educational Requirements:
∎ A Master's degree in Agriculture, Environment science, Argo forestry, Disaster Science and Management, Engineering in any discipline related to contraction Energy and Climate and any other subject related to Climate Change.
∎ Any advance degree or training related to climate change will be preferable
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 7 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ Project Name: "Promoting Climate Resilient Communities in Bangladesh"
∎ Project Summary: The project aims to generate climate knowledge, Adaptation and Mitigation Technology, Climate resilient practice for capacity development of different stakeholders nationally and internationally. Climate Centre aims to be a regional hub to strengthen climate-resilient low carbon sustainable development through trans-formative community-based adaptation mitigation and climate risk reduction.This project is linked with many national and International organizations, different Universities, Colleges and Schools in Bangladesh, for promoting conceptual understanding on Climate Change and its impact on the lives of poor and vulnerable communities, living in locations that are regularly and severely affected by changes in climatic conditions and natural environments, that has social, economic, political and human rights implications.
∎ Role of the Position: Coordinator, Climate Centre will oversee the complete activities (Planning, designing, construction work, sustainability, visibility) of Climate Centre at Sreepur. He/She will be also assigned to maintain overall communication with different stakeholders and institutes related to technology park and climate change.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Providing leadership in designing the CCDB climate technology park
∎ Analyze the current, short term and long term requirement of the centre and source possible alternative cost effective solutions for the requirement.
∎ Provide guidance to the managers and officers so that they can implement their tasks effectively and objectively.
∎ Monitor the construction works, adaptive agriculture research and mitigation activities at park area, Oversee community engagement activities,
∎ Supervise training on climate technology, developing training facilities at Climate Centre
∎ Collecting climate technologies through field visits and dissemination of knowledge on climate technology
∎ Analyze the demand of the centre, and strength of the partners. Build the networking with partners and likeminded organizations in a view to the service requirement and/or demand of the centre.
∎ Assist on implementation level to link the Technology Park with educational institutes (primary, secondary, higher secondary and graduate level) and arrange exposure visits to the park for students, teachers and the interested civil society.
∎ Develop Network for Technology Transfer platform and collect different new and available technology from local to global organization to demonstrate in the park.
∎ Develop good relation with government and donor organization for fund raising.
∎ Search update knowledge related to climate change adaptation and mitigation, DRR and development issues and demonstrate at Climate Park.
∎ Source different interactive learning tools for climate education for different stakeholders.
∎ Linked with different universities and research institute for advanced research and solution related to climate change and DRR.
∎ Analyze and articulate the service and the deliverables, Gathering overall knowledge and analysis of marketing and profitability to make the centre profitable.
∎ Assist in the development of promotion and marketing strategies for various mechanisms displayed at the park, so that these can be introduced at appropriate sites;
∎ Validate improved mechanisms regarding their sustainability, community acceptance and potential for up - scaling;
∎ Assist in drafting of promotional and marketing materials (info letters, factsheets, manuals, guide books etc.) for use at local and national levels by the respective partner organizations
∎ Oversee all administrative and financial activities of Climate Centre.
∎ Monitoring and Reporting
Additional Requirements:
∎ Must be below 50 Years
∎ Must have sound knowledge on Climate Science, Adaptation and Mitigation technologies
∎ Having good network with national and international stakeholders, universities, research institute and NGOs working on climate change
∎ Should have experience to explore innovative solution
∎ Must have good connection with government officials and policy makers related to climate change.
∎ Must have sound knowledge on international trend related to Climate policies and agreement.
Salary: Tk. 80000 - 90000 (Monthly)
