Job Context:
∎ BHW is now recruiting for the following positions to set up a full- fledged Secretariat to implement the regular activities of BHW and implement project activities revolving around research, high level advocacy with policy makers and programme planners, development partners and civil society partners. It is an exciting innovative project, based at JPGSPH and offering excellent working environment. All positions carry excellent benefits.
∎ Only individuals working at senior level (for the Chief Coordinator role) or senior mid-level (for other roles) should apply.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To carry out advocacy related tasks as designated
∎ To assist the Chief Coordinator in preparing reports
∎ To liaise with donor, government and other stakeholders and develop his/her own strong network with them
∎ To oversee commissioned work, and ensure quality of the product
∎ To take active part in setting up and running of the Regional Chapters through supporting and mentoring Chapter members
∎ To take active part in setting up and running of Thematic Groups; ensure that meetings take place as required
∎ To work as member secretary of Thematic Groups
∎ To facilitate access of Working Group members/Chief Coordinator to policy makers and government officials through persistent follow up
∎ To document project progress and experiences
∎ To step in to lead the project in the absence of Project Coordinator
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 10 years of experience in working at senior mid-level; some experience of working with the government
∎ Familiar with the health sector of Bangladesh; experience of working closely with the government will be an advantage
∎ Excellent communication skills, especially writing skills in both English and Bangla
∎ Capable of working under pressure
∎ Demonstrable capacity to work on several fronts and with several agencies in parallel
∎ Capacity to multi-task and work across the organization
∎ Person of high integrity and resilience
