Job Context:
∎ CSISA project: The Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA) was established in 2009 and is implemented jointly by the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). CSISA works in synergy with regional and national efforts, collaborating with myriad public, civil society and private-sector partners.
∎ Job Purpose/ Objectives: Overall objective of the consultant is to develop strategies and models to promote market linkages for and sale of Premium Quality Rice (PQR) in Bangladesh. It covers activities necessary to establish and grow the demand of PQR under CSISA project.
∎ Job Location: Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop business, promotion and marketing strategies will mill owners/marketing firms for PQR
∎ Promote and sell PQR in the project area
∎ Regular follow up with demand side actors such as trades, marketing firms etc.
∎ Develop a plan to scale PQR in the project region
∎ Develop strategic partnerships for promotion and marketing of PQR

Additional Requirements:
∎ 10 years of relevant working experience in sales promotion/business development.
∎ Language Requirements: Excellent written & spoken in English and Bangla as native language.
∎ Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge on business development tools and models

Salary:
∎ BDT 140,000.00/monthly. Travel & per diem as per IRRI policy for local consultant.
