∎ At least 4 years’ experience in the development field specially in DRR Projects experience will be given preference
∎ Basic knowledge on disaster management system at local level
∎ Experience in group formation, group meeting, courtyard session, community meeting and community mobilization
∎ Skill on session facilitation of CBO Meeting/Courtyard session on DRR Issues
∎ Capacity to build interpersonal relationship with CBOs/WDMC/UDMC and other NGOs
∎ Good team member and rapport building skill with the community people and union parishad
∎ Experience working within the NGO context at a field level
∎ Experience in data and collection from filed
∎ Experience to work in hard to reach areas in coastal areas of Bangladesh

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Organize meeting with the community people to orient the project activities at field level
∎ Closely work with the community-based organizations to orient the project approaches and strategy
∎ Closely work with the community people to create awareness on cyclone preparedness and disaster risk reduction
∎ Select the community-based volunteer and capacity building to work closely with the vulnerable community people
∎ Organize community and union level meeting with the support of community-based volunteer
∎ Mobilize CBOs (Women Committee, youth groups and adolescent clubs) to create a culture of preparedness at community level through meetings, training and workshops.
∎ Assist to develop the capacity of shelter Management Committee (SMC) on shelter readiness to face shock and stress
∎ Organize training for the capacity building of DMCs, CBOs and local stakeholders to develop risk informed early action plan at local level
∎ Support community level relevant stakeholders to establish networking and promoting risk informed forecast based early action protocol at local level
∎ Organized dissemination workshop at union and community level
∎ Select the beneficiaries to implement the small-scale FbF option (Pilot financing) to test the effectiveness of the forecast based early action system
∎ Assist to collect the information and data from the field
∎ Collect success story and documented on the anticipatory action/early action based from field
∎ Assist to develop the report of the project.
∎ The position is based in Union level of Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali district
∎ Working days from Sunday to Thursday with 40 hours per week. This position may be required work some overtime hours to attend external meetings.
∎ From time to time local /day long travel may be required to reach different working and remote areas within the Patuakhali District
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor, or country office from time to time
∎ Yearly renewable the contract based on fund availability and performance

∎ Job Context:
∎ Cordaid is a leading INGO working for securing sustainable livelihoods, justice and dignity for all in Bangladesh since 1972. Most of the implemented interventions are focusing on Food and Nutrition Security, Climate Smart Agriculture, Disaster Risk Reduction, WASH and Humanitarian Assistance in the Geographical areas where the people are at risk of vulnerability and poverty specifically northern, south west part of Bangladesh including Cox’s Bazar.
∎ Strengthening Forecast-based Early Actions in Cyclone Prone coastal Region in Bangladesh (SEP) project will support national and capacitate local authorities in improving institutional, legislative & policy frameworks that are specific to preparedness and response where appropriate, relevant and necessary, in collaboration with respective development actors. Besides, the action will use an approach which strengthens multi-stakeholder coordination for ensuring the right people, right time and right initiatives in the right way (4R). For the ambition of the intervention to be met, the action will maintain very close coordination and collaboration with FBF/A taskforce, FBF working Group, FbF Forum. This action will also emphasize to build on and contextualizing existing protocols, guideline and modules to make this FbA protocol more specific to the locations and context.
∎ The community mobilizers will support the Project Officer and Project Manager to implement the project activities at the community level of the STEP project at Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali district.
∎ Job Responsibilities and Tasks:
