Responsibilities & Context:

Shushilan is inviting applications from qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Community Mobilizer under the ACIAR–Paribartan Project. The position will play a key role in community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, locally-led adaptation (LLA) processes, and participatory research activities in Bangladesh polders.

 

Community Mobilization and Capacity Building:

  • Coordinate with Water Management Group (WMG), Trail farmers, Change Agents, Social Business Group, Stakeholders of various GoB sectors, Local government, Companies & Dealer of Seeds, Fertilizers, Pesticides to prepare them for participation in the project;

  • Support to organize and facilitate capacity-building sessions for Water Management Group,

  • Trail farmers, Change Agents, Social Business Group on adaptation options, leadership development, and collective action;

  • Support the implementation of locally-led adaptation (LLA) processes, including support to facilitating workshops and training sessions with water management group, water management committee, farmer groups.

Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Support to multi-stakeholder analyses to identify local leaders and relevant stakeholders for community-based initiatives;

  • Support to formation and coordination of multi-stakeholder advisory groups and ensure active participation in project activities;

  • Effective relationships with water management group, water management committee, farmer groups, community leaders, local governments/ union parishad, relevant NGOs, and private sector actors/ seed dealer, pesticides dealer, fertilizer dealer to ensure their effective participation and smooth implementation of project activities.

Field Support and Implementation:

  • Support to implementation field level PARIBARTAN Project activities;

  • Provide on-ground support to project targeted beneficiaries especially water management group, water management committee, farmers including women for group-to-group learning activities, mutual capacity building and practicing adaptive practices.

Research Data Collection:

  • Support to collect data as per requirements of project;

  • Assist and coordinate Change Agents (CAs) for collecting data;

  • Writing field notes for understanding cropping system change & trade off analysis;

  • Adopt iterative learning process to collect data from field.

Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting:

  • Document learning, challenge & overcome experience, case studies, and best practices on leadership, collective learning, and adaptation options;

  • Submit reports, field visit updates, and other required documentation.
