  • Age At most 40 years
  • At least 3 years’ experience in related field, project implementation and working with local government institute.
  • Knowledge and experience in Climate Change Adaptation, Climate Resilience is preferable.
  • Knowledge and experience in Gender justice and diversity, Community capacity building initiatives, resilient livelihood and on gender, environmental and social compliance issues. Also respect for different race, ethnic communities and gender is mandatory.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and have impact on input on program indicators.
  • Excellent organization, coordination, report writing and team management skills.
  • Strong and effective coordination, communication and presentation skills along with advocacy skill with local and national stakeholders.
  • Project implementation and capacity building competencies.
  • Report writing capacity.
  • Prior working experience in Rajshahi City Corporation or with urban slum communities will be considered as an advantage.


Responsibilities & Context:

DASCOH is seeking application from qualified individual for the role of Community Mobilizer for its “Strengthening Climate-Vulnerable Urban Communities for Resilience and Gender-Inclusive Sustainable Development” project which aims to strengthen the capacity of local government institutions through training and technical assistance and to provide an integrated approach of adaptation initiatives to enable communities to better withstand climate-induced disasters. The incumbent will support the organization by implementing the day-to-day activities at the selected slum, including liaising with Community Development Committee.

Objective of the mandate:

  • The objectives of the project execution mandate are:

  • As per the operational plans, select participants, and manage services for targeted communities.

  • Implement Program Activities by conducting training, distribute resources, and managing other activities.

  • Build relationships with Local government institutions member, stakeholders, and others to ensure program delivery and develop strategic partnerships.

  • Support the overall implementation, monitoring, and reporting of field-level activities.

  • Ensure team member safety, promote safeguarding policies, and follow reporting procedures.

Functions:

  • In more concrete terms the mandate includes:

  • Setting up operational plan for the filed level program activities and community mobilization, formulation/reactivation/facilitation of participants.

  • Program participant’s selection according to the criteria and provide services to the targeted communities within the limited timeframe.

  • Conduct awareness raising and capacity building activities  and distribution of agriculture inputs and materials for climate adaptive agricultural activities.

  • Managing relationships with community members, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of the program outputs at field level and also develop strategic partnership and networks with the relevant stakeholders at field level.

  • Provide support in overall implementation, monitoring and reporting of field level program activities with safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation.

  • Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

  • Implement gender inclusiveness approaches in project intervention.

  • Implement ESS&G framework in project intervention.
