Job Context:
∎ LOCATION: Duty station Dhaka with travel as to focus districts, as needed
∎ STATUS: Full time; initially for one year, subject to employee performance and availability of funds
∎ REPORTS TO: Bangladesh Ashshash Project Team Leader
∎ POSITION SUMMARY: The Communications Officer will support and maintain internal and external communications with project staff, project partners and key stakeholders. The position will also coordinate implementation of the project communications strategy, to promote behavior change aligned with Ashshash project outcomes.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Coordinate with Ashshash project staff and relevant stakeholders' development and implementation of a communication strategy aligned with donor and Winrock guidelines;
∎ Assist staff and partners in organizing events and communications;
∎ Support the implementation of Ashshash's branding and marking plan in collaboration with SDC, NGO and government partners, and other key stakeholders;
∎ Provide technical support to project management and technical staff on the development of appropriate messages, approaches, and materials for awareness, advocacy, campaigns and other key TIP activities at national and sub-national levels;
∎ Liaise with media to generate reports, public awareness and media coverage on counter trafficking issues and Ashshash interventions;
∎ Provide orientation and coaching to Ashshash and partners' staff on writing and effective use of media to improve the overall quality of communications on survivor-centered approaches and amplifying the voice of survivors;
∎ Liaise with Winrock's Home Office Communications team to provide up-to-date information on Ashshash activities and address all communication needs of the project;
∎ Draft case studies, success stories and other relevant project documents;
∎ Maintain project document management system (hard copy and on the Ashshash/Winrock server);
∎ Assist in preparing technical reports, quarterly and annual donor reports, newsletters, press-releases and updates for the donor; and
∎ Any other duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in communications or public relations;
∎ Experience implementing international development projects to the highest ethical standards;
∎ Relevant and significant experience training, designing, and implementing capacity building plans for improved communications; targeting a wide range of stakeholders such as local NGOs, media practitioners, youth groups;
∎ Experience writing media releases, reports, awareness materials for social protection and other relevant interventions, in both Bangla and English; and
∎ Professional experience developing communications plans, materials, and methods, including monitoring the impact of these on target audiences.
∎ Self-driven, 'can-do' attitude, enthusiastic to work with TIP survivors, people and communities;
∎ Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Bangla required;
∎ Demonstrated knowledge of human trafficking and related social protection themes, specifically contextualized to South Asia preferred;
∎ Excellent networking skills and proven experience engaging media practitioners and other key stakeholders in planning and executing major events and campaigns;
∎ Proven track record utilizing appropriate traditional and social media to achieve objectives.
∎ Proven ability to think creatively and be innovative; and
∎ Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Editor, Movie Maker, Powerpoint and desktop publishing/graphic software such as Adobe In-design, Page Maker, Microsoft Publisher.
