Job Context:

∎ Type of Appointment: Special Short Term (Initially 6 Months with possibility of extension)
∎ Division/Unit: Mission Support Unit
∎ General Functions:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the National Communications Officer (NCO), and overall supervision of the head of mission support unit the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable to assist the communications unit in Dhaka with the following responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist the NCO to develop and implement visibility and communications activities for the mission according to the organization's branding guidelines.
∎ Under the guidance of NCO, support programme units in drafting and developing content and communication materials such as flyers, brochures, newsletters, factsheets, infographics, and visual online content.
∎ Regularly capture and create photo and video stories that highlight the actions and results of IOM Bangladesh.
∎ Under the guidance of NCO, ensure proper documentation through photography, videography, and writing. And play an active role to archive all raw and finished content properly.
∎ Support the NCO for regular media relations and produce media materials like press invitation press releases and other media materials.
∎ Work closely with different units to ensure the flow of regular audio-visual contents across different platforms.
∎ Regularly update the IOM Bangladesh website with digital contents. Support communication unit for social media mobilization to ensure smooth operations of digital media platforms.
∎ Assist the Communications Unit with the required resource management support (i.e. Administrative, financial, logistics, etc) and organize events/workshops and seminars regularly.
∎ Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least two years of relevant work experience in Communication, Journalism, or relevant communication filed.
∎ At least two years of practical experience in photography and videography.
∎ Prior work experience with international development organizations, non-government organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
∎ Team-work oriented, capacity to work independently; personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, experience in working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels.
∎ Excellent writing (English and Bangla) and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and to write clearly and accurately.
∎ Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
∎ Strong coordination, monitoring and evaluation, analytical, project development, liaison and reporting skills.
