∎ Position requires experience in Development Communication however fresh graduates are encouraged who would like to work hard.
∎ Experience of creating videos and managing websites.
Job Context:
∎ Project Summary:
∎ The overall climate change vulnerabilities of people and communities is high in Bangladesh whereas the institutional capacities of NGO, academician, government authorities and other intermediaries are low to address these vulnerabilities. Addressing these problems is the key intention of the project through resilience building of climate vulnerable people and communities, mitigation of greenhouse gases, promoting renewable energy and implementation of SDGs especially SDG13 and SDG 7 in vulnerable rural context. The ultimate mission of this project is to promote pro-poor climate resilient low carbon sustainable development in Bangladesh and beyond through knowledge generation, sharing, capacity development, building community climate resilience.
∎ Job Summary:
∎ The main purpose of the Communication Officer is to assist in building a brand identity the Climate Change Program (CCP) of CCDB. Top priorities are creating website contents, interactive learning tools, and documentary films; then launching campaigns for the upcoming grand inauguration of the Climate Center of CCDB. These involves developing both digital and printing materials, organizing events and reaching out locally, nationally and globally to target people. The Communications Officer will support our internal and external communications strategy, write and disseminate publicity material, respond to inquiries from the public and media, and coordinate promotional events.
∎ To succeed as a Communications Officer, the incumbent should have a creative mind holding a Bachelor`s Degree in communication with the desire to work-hard in the development sector and passionate to communicate climate change.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Creating and Managing Web Contents: Writing, editing, proofreading and publishing contents for websites of CCDB, Climate Center and Climate Portal and associated social media sites. Contents are defined as text, multimedia audio-video, articles, blog posts and images to engage local, national and international target groups with CCDB activities.
∎ Creating Documentary Videos: Writing scripts for documentary films/videos/stories, shooting, taking interviews and produce video documentaries to attract community people in resilient activities as well as national and international organizations with common interest. Documentaries includes promotional, project videos, success stories, technology related videos etc.
∎ Creating Interactive Learning Tools: Learning tools, IEC materials, Flyers and brochures, display boards etc. for the Climate Technology Park and overall CCP.
∎ Photography and videography: Photography and videography of climate technologies and events.
∎ Newsletter: Develop newsletters to be disseminate internally and externally.
∎ Promotional Campaign: Plan, design and coordinate launching campaigns to maximize external visibility of CCDB Climate Technology Park.
∎ Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists for mass media dissemination like press conferences, releases, newspaper and TV articles/programs/news.
∎ Assist in organizing conference, fair, seminar, training, exhibitions along with arranging interviews
∎ Assist preparing digital and printing materials to communicate the activities, products and services of CCDB.
∎ Documentation: Maintain records of media coverage
∎ Reporting: Analyze communication outreach and report.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Ability to develop communication messages for different target groups.
∎ Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with strong public speaking skills
∎ Cultural sensitivity and ability to respect and work well with people from different backgrounds and disciplines.
∎ Good time management, ability to meet deadlines and commitments
Salary: Tk. 25000 - 30000 (Monthly)
