∎ Overall Job Description:
∎ The Communication and Advocacy Officer is responsible for documentation and communication work of Solidaridad Network Asia. S/he will support in planning and designing of documentation and communication initiatives of Solidaridad in line with organizational strategic needs and priorities. The Communication and Advocacy Officer will undertake action research, collect stories, write and edit promotional and information materials for internal and external audiences. S/he will play a critical role in implementing communications, branding and documentation strategies of Solidaridad Network Asia to enhance the visibility of the work of Solidaridad in Bangladesh among the relevant stakeholders and in the mainstream media.
∎ Under the overall supervision of the Lead, Policy Advocacy and Resource Mobilisation and strategic support from national and regional technical expertise, the Communication and Advocacy Officer will roll out the communication and advocacy initiatives designed for all the projects, including stakeholder mapping, contribute to the designing and planning of policy workshops, and implementing processes. S/he will be responsible for the communications activities for both internal and external stakeholders and will strive to uphold the visibility of Solidaridad`s work in Bangladesh. S/he will be the focal person for all communications with the Regional Excellence Center (REC) and the Network Secretariat of Solidaridad for the global communications related assignments, including writing features for websites, capturing stories from the field and sharing relevant news to the global teams.
∎ The position will be based in Dhaka with occasional field visits to the project operation areas.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Communications:
∎ Coordinate between the programme and global communications team to develop and leverage Solidaridad's knowledge products for creating organizational visibility among the stakeholders, including the mainstream and new media
∎ Develop impact stories and project briefing documents for internal and external dissemination
∎ Develop commodity briefs, case studies, and data driven stories describing and depicting program results and lessons learned.
∎ Manage the intranet for Solidaridad Bangladesh, including updating intranet with events, photographs and internal documents, videos, project information, employee details, partnerships etc. on a timely basis.
∎ Support management with in-house graphic designing requirements for reports, briefing sheets and presentation.
∎ Draft and edit content for publication and for website use
∎ Support the Country Manager and the Lead, Policy Advocacy and Resource Mobilisation on stakeholder communication and resource mobilisation related efforts.
∎ Policy Advocacy:
∎ Support the team to draft and design the advocacy strategy in alignment with the policies addressed by the projects, the government of Bangladesh, and funding agencies
∎ Review relevant national and global policies and draft action plans for necessary actions
∎ Undertake stakeholder analysis for specific projects and commodities on which Solidaridad works
∎ Support to organize local and national level stakeholder consultations, workshops and seminars to disseminate relevant advocacy agenda
∎ Prepare knowledge materials for dissemination on policy dialogues
∎ Information Management, Effective Networking and Collaboration:
∎ Maintain a functional relationship with relevant public-private stakeholders
∎ Support project staff and partners to maintain network with other local agencies and individuals working in similar areas of programming
∎ Provide thoughtful insights in the improvement of the quality of donor reporting, project proposals and relevant knowledge materials
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of working experience in the field of communications, media strategy development, advocacy and policy analysis and relevant work in development projects;
∎ High level proficiency in English (IELTS band 7 or above); Able to comprehend and write on complex issues and superior analytical ability to understand multiple commodities/sectors
∎ First-hand experience on high-quality report writing, production of knowledge materials, and dissemination tools and techniques
∎ Proficiency in using MS package and graphic design tools (will be tested)
∎ Good presentation and communications skills, well-versed in both Bengali and English.
