Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Establish and maintain contacts with key local and national actors and platforms.
∎ Develop and implement the project communication and advocacy plan, ensuring efficient and timely execution of advocacy interventions.
∎ Work closely with WAVE project team and WHH Bangladesh teams to develop advocacy measures/strategies and ensure advocacy outcomes foreseen under the programme.
∎ Identify and dealing the advocacy at local, regional and national level.
∎ Coordination with networks at local and national level and policy actors.
∎ Harmonization, networking with national advocacy networks, visibility, positioning.
∎ Act as a catalyst and support the development of local and national level advocacy strategies and related activities.
∎ Ensuring a consistent lobbying strategy in country level, while at the same time taking into account local circumstances.
∎ Liaise with relevant government agencies and local communities.
∎ Assist PC for the preparation on regular progress reports, financial reports, and other required documents.
∎ Represent the project at meetings, workshops, and other events.
∎ Identify and implement strategies to ensure project sustainability beyond the project period.
∎ Master's degree in any subject of Agricultural Science/Environmental science/Communication/Journalism with 6 years of experience, including at least 3 years working on communication and advocacy related activities emphasis on food system, agro-ecology and advocacy on agricultural issues.
∎ At least 4 years of professional experience in communication and advocacy related activities, preferably in food system, agro-ecology and agriculture related project.
∎ Proven experience in communication, advocacy and stakeholder engagement.
∎ Excellent analytical, reporting, and presentation skills.
∎ Experience working with government agencies and local communities in Bangladesh in an asset.

∎ WAVE Foundation is a civil society organization established in 1990, has been implementing multifaceted activities for the socio economic development of the poor and marginalized as well as the establishment of universal human rights and good governance. Besides, the organization is conducting issue based policy advocacy and campaigns. WAVE is driven by its motto 'Together for Better Life’ towards the vision of establishing 'A just and Prosperous society’. WAVE has organized its activities into 6 programmes: 1) Poverty Eradication and Livelihood Development 2) Community Financing and Entrepreneurship Development 3) Agri-Food System Transformation 4) Governance, Rights and Justice 5) Social Development and Youth Empowerment 6) Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion. WAVE Foundation is going to implement a four years (04) Global Programme ‘The Green Evolution: Pathways to Transforming Food Systems in India, Bangladesh and Nepal’, supported by Private German sponsor Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V. (WHH) at Singair Upazilla of Manikgonj District with the objective to strengthen local agroecological food systems through improved policy frameworks, operational structures and multi-stakeholder cooperation at all levels. The project aims to contribute climate-resilient food systems for all people in the country based on agro-ecology. The project intends to accomplish various activities i.e., the production, processing, distribution, preparation, and consumption of food, as well as the outcomes of these interactions in the fields of food and nutrition, socioeconomics, and the environment. For implementing the project WAVE Foundation is seeking qualified candidate for the position of the ‘Communication and Advocacy Coordinator’ in it’s Project Management Unit (PMU) of this project.
∎ Job Summary
∎ The Communication and Advocacy Coordinator will be overall responsible for the communication and advocacy including planning and implementation of project communication, local and policy level campaign & advocacy related interventions. The project coordinator will manage the overall project implementation and meets the donor’s compliance. He/she will maintain communication and Collaboration with strategic partners at the micro, meso and macro level. He/She will also be responsible for the initiatives of integrated Agroecological approaches into existing government advisory systems and policy/planning mechanisms to reach a large number of smallholder farmers. He/she will be responsible for capturing and documenting of project learning, best practices and exemplary initiatives.
∎ Key Responsibilities
