Job Context:
∎ Concern Worldwide invites applications from potential female candidates for its upcoming "Emergency Nutrition Intervention Programme" funded by UNICEF and WFP.
∎ Type of Contract: Fixed Term from 01 January 2020 to 31 December 2020
∎ Job Purpose: She will be responsible for medical checks for children 0-5 months old and their mothers for signs of malnutrition and/or the risk factors for malnutrition. She will identify at risk children and mother pairs and provide appropriate treatment and referral. She will also be expected to provide counselling and nutritional education to the mothers, to get to the causes of the observed difficulties or conditions and provide support and guidance toward the solution(s) to prevent deterioration. She will build relationships with the mothers and provide home visits and continued support as appropriate, until recovery.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Conduct clinical assessment to all children 0-5 months reporting to the BSFP programme.
∎ Provide consultations to mothers with children 0-5 months to assess children's and mothers' overall health and nutrition status, and referral for additional health and nutrition services.
∎ Identify children responding poorly to treatment and recommending home visits, as needed.
∎ Verify anthropometric measurements and classification of mother and infant pairs for C-MAMI enrolment and support
∎ Provide systematic treatment and supplements in accordance to the approved treatment protocols.
∎ Identify and refer mothers, if needed, to IYCF Corner, ANC, PNC, Delivery, EPI and psychosocial support
∎ Identify and refer adolescent mothers for nutrition counselling and additional multi-sectoral support
∎ Support effective coordination, particularly ensuring strong linkages with BSFP& IYCF activities and Care Group membership and participation by the mothers.
∎ Participate in monthly and weekly report compilation and support the capturing of best practices
∎ Promote and ensure compliance with the requirements of Concern's Code of Conduct and its associated safeguarding policies and Core Humanitarian Standards of Accountability (CHS) to ensure maximum protection to programme beneficiaries, and to welcome feedback.
∎ Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Country Director/Emergency Director or the line manager.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 2 years' experience in a similar position
∎ Technical knowledge on community based nutrition interventions, particularly CMAM, IYCF and C-MAMI programming
∎ Have good knowledge on Rohingya refugee programmes
∎ Demonstrate ability to think and manage strategically, plan and meet deadlines
∎ Fluency in English, if possible, as well as Bangla.
∎ Proficient knowledge of standard computer software if possible.
Salary:
∎ ANNUAL Gross Salary range BDT 409,572/- to BDT 451,548/-
