Education:

Experience Requirements

Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose

The Cluster Manager/Area Manager – Operations is responsible for managing and supervising multiple Meena Bazar outlets within an assigned cluster to ensure achievement of sales targets, operational excellence, compliance, and superior customer experience while developing strong outlet management teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive achievement of daily, monthly, and annual sales, gross profit, and basket value targets across assigned outlets.

  • Monitor outlet-wise sales performance, category contribution, wastage, shrinkage, and take corrective actions to improve profitability.

  • Ensure product availability and optimal stock levels by coordinating with SCM, logistics, and warehouse teams.

  • Review and analyze sales, inventory, and operational reports to identify trends, gaps, and growth opportunities.

  • Lead, coach, and develop Outlet Managers and teams to deliver consistent operational excellence.

  • Ensure strict compliance with company SOPs, policies, internal controls, and operational standards across all outlets.

  • Conduct regular outlet visits and store walk-throughs to ensure store ambience, merchandising, pricing, housekeeping, and hygiene standards.

  • Ensure excellent customer service standards, handle escalated customer complaints, and promote a customer-centric culture.

  • Monitor inventory accuracy, oversee physical stock counts, reconcile variances, and control shrinkage and wastage.

  • Ensure proper implementation of FEFO, control damaged/expired items, and minimize operational losses.

  • Verify GRN, investigate stock discrepancies, and ensure timely correction of documentation and system errors.

  • Oversee cash handling procedures, checkout operations, and compliance with internal control guidelines.

  • Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, pricing accuracy, discount approvals, and promotional execution across outlets.

  • Monitor utility usage, packing costs, and consumables to optimize operational expenses.

  • Supervise manpower planning, duty rosters, attendance, shift management, and workforce productivity.

  • Ensure proper grooming, uniform, discipline, and behavioral standards of outlet employees.

  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, SCM, IT, and other support functions to resolve operational issues efficiently.

  • Support new outlet opening activities, including staffing, merchandising, initial stock planning, and operational readiness.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly consolidated reports on sales, inventory, manpower, audit findings, and operational performance to management.

  • Conduct regular audits and identify non-compliance, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, authorities, and key customers to strengthen brand presence.
