- Proven knowledge of FMCG sales, retail distribution, and trade marketing.
- Proven expertise in business analysis, sales forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work with data, MIS reports, and performance dashboards.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong computer literacy is mandatory.
Responsibilities & Context: Job Context: We are looking for a dynamic, experienced, and strategic Chief Sales & Marketing Officer (CSMO) to lead and oversee the overall sales and marketing operations of our FMCG business. The incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing effective sales & marketing strategies, driving revenue growth, strengthening market presence, and improving operational efficiency in line with company goals.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously monitor comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to achieve organizational revenue and growth targets.
- Act as the principal leader of the sales and marketing function, representing the department at senior management and strategic decision-making levels.
- Lead and control nationwide sales operations, including distributor, dealer, modern trade, corporate sales, and retail network management.
- Take full ownership of sales revenue, market expansion, and profitability (sales P&L responsibility).
- Plan and execute brand positioning, trade marketing, and promotional programs to strengthen market presence and increase market share.
- Define and control pricing strategies, trade margins, discount policies, and incentive schemes in alignment with company objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, pricing structures, and consumer behaviours to support strategic and data-driven decision-making.
- Set sales targets and KPIs for all hierarchy levels (NSM, RSM, ASM, TSM, SO) and ensure achievement through structured action plans.
- Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and revenue planning in close coordination with MIS, finance, and senior management.
- Build, lead, train, and motivate the entire sales and marketing team to ensure high performance, discipline, and professional growth.
- Ensure strong coordination between sales, marketing, production, supply chain, accounts, and MIS for smooth business operations.
- Establish and enforce sales governance, discipline, ethical standards, and compliance policies across the organization.
- Develop and maintain effective reporting, monitoring, and performance evaluation systems to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Lead business growth initiatives, including new product launches, channel development, and territory expansion.
- Provide strategic inputs and recommendations to top management/board regarding sales forecasts, risks, opportunities, and long-term growth plans.
- Represent the company in key negotiations, partnerships, trade discussions, and high-level business engagements.
