Experience:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from UGC approved universities having no 3rd class/division in academic records.
Candidates having Bar-at-Law, Master`s in Law (LL.M), PhD or any other higher specialized degree in Law will be given preference.
Enrollment as an Advocate in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh will be given preference.
Minimum 15 years of experience in handling relevant litigation cases along with at least 05 years of working experience in the Legal Department/Legal Team of a bank/financial institution (preferable as the Head).
Experience in handling complex legal matters including litigation, arbitration, contract enforcement and regulatory affairs as well as experience in handling legal disputes, particularly in the recovery of Non-performing Loan (NPL) and write off loans.

Job Responsibilities
Lead and strengthen the Bank’s Legal Department and legal risk management framework.
Advise the Management and Board on legal, regulatory, governance and compliance matters.
Ensure compliance with banking laws, Bangladesh Bank regulations and applicable legal requirements.
Oversee all litigation, recovery suits, writs and court-related matters of the Bank.
Submit monthly litigation progress reports to the Managing Director and quarterly reports to the Board.
Coordinate and oversee the panel lawyers, external counsel and law firms.
Vet, draft and review contracts, agreements and legal documentation.
Ensure timely legal action for loan recovery and protection of the Bank’s interest.
Develop internal legal policies, governance frameworks and compliance procedures.
Liaise with courts, regulatory authorities and law enforcement agencies.
Build an efficient legal team with effective case monitoring and reporting systems.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Bank Management.
