Experience:
Bachelor at Law from any UGC approved university. Master’s at Law is desirable.
Minimum 1 year of experience in legal farm or court and their application in humanitarian or development settings.
English competency in writing skill i.e. experiences of developing/constructing Qualitative and Narrative reports.
Ability to organize and prioritize work and completing tasks, meet deadlines and maintain composure without supervision
Excellent communication, listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, maintain confidentiality, respect of all ages, background and diversity

Project Officer (Associate Legal Officer) will provide response and prevention services to ensure access to justice through direct interventions impacting the lives of women, girls, men and boys, diversified gender and mainstreaming in other response programming and operational areas for ensuring access to justice through providing legal assistance.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with supervisors to ensure timely and effective delivery of legal assistance and awarencess programs to PoCs following BRAC and UNHCR guidlines.
Provide legal counseling, advice, and support to PoCs at police stations, courts and during mediation process.
Facilitate legal awareness sessions for refugees, including community leaders, religious leaders and persons with specific needs (PSN) in camps.
Conduct detention and prison visits, advocate for PoCs release and assist in appearances before courts.
Collaborate with police and stakeholders to rescue trafficking victims and provide legal support.
Gather evidence, analyze cases and support legal officers in developing strategies, preparing files and representing clients when needed.
Train, mentor and build the capacity of refugee volunteers (paralegals) on legal assistance.
Maintain communication and coordination with local authorities, Majhees, CiC, APBn and other stakeholders to address legal needs as prioritized by Legal Officers.
Assist in grant management and reporting including preparing work plans, legal statements and internal/external reports on schedule basis.
Promote team development by providing feedback, coaching and maintain supportive professional relationships with staffs and volunteers.
Collaborate with internal BRAC departments, partner organization, NGOs, government authorities, and UN agencies to ensure program coordination.
Safeguarding
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
