Job Context:
∎ Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a non-government development organization founded by Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah, an eminent educationist, reformer and Sufi. The founding motto of DAM is `Divine and humanitarian service`. It functions since 1958 pursuing the aims of social and spiritual development of entire human community. Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is a National NGO with Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC and UNESCO. DAM`s current diversified works encompass multi-dimensional field programs and self-governing institutions in education, health and economic development sectors in Bangladesh.
∎ The Technical & Vocational Education & Training (TVET) sector of Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) has playing a significant role in the field of skills development activities in Bangladesh. Since 1985 DAM has been offering variety of livelihood skills development training courses through vocational training institutes. The skills needs of unskilled, unemployed, underemployed and retrenched laborers are being addressed through these skills training along with employment support services. There are seven vocational training institutes (VTIs) located at Dhaka, Gazipur and Jashore district. In those VTIs we are facilitating twelve different courses under readymade garments, informal economy, light engineering and construction sector. All TVET institutions are affiliated and accredited as Registered Training Organization (RTO) from Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) and prevailing to contribute in providing the services regarding Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and implementing CBT&A and NTVQF system.
∎ Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is inviting applications for the following position for immediate appointment of those ongoing Programs and components.
∎ DAM invites application for the following vacant positions for immediate appointment: -
∎ Employment Status: Contractual
∎ Contact Period: 10 September 2021-10 October, 2022
∎ Duty Station: Pallabi, Dhaka.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key Competencies to acquire and practice:
∎ Oversee and supervise center operations and coordinates center activities through assigned staff; prioritizes and delegates work activities;
∎ Liaise with center external publics, particularly in relations to their advisory and training support of center, including working in organizing and conducting training relating to vocational training center;
∎ Monitoring the center activities, budget and work plan for the Center research and program, and trainees training projects.
∎ Development of reports, and financial statements, learning materials and resources;
∎ Implementation skills in the field of CBT&A, RPL, apprenticeship NC Level-IV and skill training for trainers, assessors and trainees;
∎ Abilities of developing curriculum, competency standards, manual or competency based learning materials for different sector;
∎ Strong experience in operation, implementation, supervision, and monitoring the competency based training and assessment, RPL, and NTVQF system;
∎ Sector expertise/subject matter knowledge essential and should have good industry linkages.
∎ Team facilitation, mentoring and ability to work in a team.
∎ Candidates should have Knowledge on safeguarding issues particularly on child protection.
∎ Major Job Descriptions:
∎ Act as lead to oversee and supervise center operations and coordinates center activities through assigned staff; prioritizes and delegates work activities.
∎ Serves as a key liaison with center external publics, particularly in relations to their advisory and training support of center, including working in organizing and conducting training relating to vocational training center.
∎ Prepares and monitors budget for the Center research and program, and trainees training projects.
∎ Prepares reports, keeps records and financial statements.
∎ Designs, develops and maintain training learning materials and resources.
∎ Organize and conduct CBT&A NC Level-IV and skill training for trainers, assessors and trainees.
∎ Organize and conduct workshops, meetings, and seminar or related to the training center programs.
∎ Evaluates center activities and staff performance for effectiveness to develop improved methods.
∎ Maintains follow up, field visit and very good communication with all stakeholder of the Center.
∎ Confers with and advises staff, trainees and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance and center goals.
∎ Provides assistance and information to head office, center, staff and outside organizations regarding good operation of the center.
∎ Represents center in public relations/ liaison capacity on matters relating to the center's research and projects.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ More than 5 years for Diploma in Engineering or
∎ More than 3 years for B.Sc in Engineering
∎ Knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles, organizational practices and supervisory practices and principles;
∎ Skill in coordinating and prioritizing work and activities of self and others;
∎ Certification in CBTA NC Level-IV will an advantage.
∎ Ability and willingness to travel;
∎ Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications.
∎ Skills required demonstrating:
∎ Ability to handle all staff and work under pressure.
∎ Excellent oral and written communication skills in Bangla and English; familiarity with Microsoft Office Application and Computer operation;
∎ Manage the Vocational Training Center with maintain standard as DAM guidance;
∎ Demonstrating the Competency based training and assessment at training venue and industry;
∎ Preparing the reports, proposals, MoUs and anotherrelevant document.
Salary: Tk. 30000 (Monthly)
