Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Safe Space Supervisor and overall guidance of the GBV Coordinator and GBV National Officer, the GBV caseworker will be responsible for providing individual case management through IOM's WGSS. The successful candidate will provide survivor-centered case management and psychosocial interventions in line with interagency and IOM guidelines and sector SOPs in the Women and Girls' Safe Space. The case worker will assist in monitoring individual (through the case management process) and group-based psychosocial activities for survivors of GBV.
∎ The incumbent will be assigned to inter alia, the following tasks:
∎ 1. Assist to provide case management services, including client needs' assessments, case plans, and follow up, referrals, crisis counseling, and/or data entry.
∎ 2. Provide support to the administration of the WGSS by maintaining attendance records, daily and weekly reports, and plan activities that respond to identified needs to ensure safe referral to GBV case management services.
∎ 3. Assists supervisor to ensure a survivor-centered approach by applying best-practice principles and interagency guidelines, and IOM procedures, and by collaborating with IOM Child Protection, Counter-trafficking and General Protection teams and other service providers.
∎ 4. Be a front-liner in the camps in protection and GBV centered emergency preparedness and response structures and host communities and liaise between the beneficiaries and IOM office as well as other stakeholders;
∎ 5. Provide support to disseminate information in line with interagency guidelines and standards on GBV prevention and services
∎ 6. Assists to Identify the need of GBV awareness among beneficiaries, IOM staff and other stakeholders to provide support the supervisor to facilitate periodic GBV training and awareness sessions
∎ 7. Maintain positive working relationships with relevant stakeholders including community leaders, partners, government officials, other sector staff and other implementing organizations on the ground.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Chittagongian language required
∎ Knowledge of foundational concepts in relation to GBV (core guiding principles and concepts and best practice standards)
∎ Skilled in counselling and/or case management
