Job Responsibilities:
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Counter Trafficking Officer and overall guidance of the Deputy Chief of Mission in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, the successful candidate will be responsible for direct assistance/ case management and general psychosocial support of potential and victim of trafficking (VOT) in IOM Cox's Bazar Office. The Case Worker will provide appropriate support for each individual.
∎ 1. Provide direct assistance/case management services, including victim identification, initial assessments, and care plans with the potential/victim of trafficking.
∎ 2. Provide referrals for VOTs with the consent and using the victim centered approach.
∎ 3. Provide ongoing, one-on-one general counselling to the VOTs.
∎ 4. Accompany VoTs to support services, government officials, law enforcement or family as requested.
∎ 5. Report trafficking cases and follow up action regularly to line manager.
∎ 6. Maintain screening form, case records and other related documents in hard and soft copy according to ethical and safety standards.
∎ 7. Maintain data input in IOM Global CT Data, Management and Operational Systems Application (MIMOSA),
∎ 8. Maintain good coordination and communication with other IOM sub-unit, IOM unit, IOM stakeholders and government agencies.
∎ 9. Identify the needs of awareness among people affected by crises, IOM staffs and other stakeholders and contribute to organizing and conducting CT Trainings and awareness raising session.
∎ 10. Contribute to a positive team environment
∎ 11. Perform any other duties that the supervisor may assign.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage
∎ Team-work oriented, capacity to work independently; personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, experience in working effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels
∎ Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines
∎ Strong coordination, monitoring and evaluation, analytical, project development, liaison and reporting skills;
∎ Excellent drafting and communication skills in Bangla and English is essential.
