Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or graduation in any relevant discipline from any UGC approved reputed university or institute
Demonstrates a solid understanding of shelter programming, camp-level coordination, and humanitarian response operations, ensuring effective support to field activities
Applies practical knowledge of field implementation, construction monitoring, and basic site management to maintain quality and safety standards
Utilizes MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) efficiently for accurate reporting, documentation, and data management
Coordinates effectively with camp-level stakeholders, fostering strong relationships to support smooth project implementation
Communicates clearly and professionally in both Bangla and English, adapting messages for different audiences and contexts

The Camp Focal – Shelter is responsible for overall leadership, coordination, and accountability for shelter and site improvement interventions within the assigned camp. The role ensures strategic planning, quality implementation, effective supervision of shelter teams, and alignment with programme objectives, sector standards, and safeguarding commitments.
Provide overall leadership, coordination, and accountability for planning and implementation of shelter, site improvement and energy activities within the camp.
Monitor and track shelter, site improvement and Energy activities, making necessary adjustments to timelines and overseeing all aspects of construction work including NFI distribution, to ensure quality and compliance.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for submission to the line manager, and support the Project Manager and Sector Lead in preparing half-yearly, yearly, and project closure reports.
Attend weekly sector coordination meetings, address issues, and maintain effective communication with relevant stakeholders.
Assist the Project Manager and Sector Lead in the planning, design, and management of Shelter and Site Improvement activities, focusing on budget allocation, activity planning, and developing the Annual Operation Plan (AOP).
Identify appropriate shelter and site improvement interventions based on needs assessments, field observations, FGDs, and community consultations to ensure effective community-based shelter programming.
Maintain close collaboration with key internal departments (Procurement, Finance, Admin, Logistics, Communications) and external stakeholders (Site Management, GoB officials, donors, and community representatives).
Ensure the safety and well-being of staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries by upholding safeguarding policies and actively promoting a safe working environment.
Serve as a resource on safeguarding best practices, ensuring that team members adhere to safeguarding standards in all project activities.
Safeguarding
Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
