Educational Requirements:
∎ BS / MS in Agriculture Science having specialization in Genetics & Plant breeding/ Biotechnology/ Genetic Engineering / Agronomy & Agricultural Extensions
Experience Requirements:
∎ 2 to 3 year(s)
Job Context:
∎ Lead and coordinate the activities of specific segments of rice breeding in improving by developing competitive and profitable products that meet performance and production standards for target market segments
∎ Lead execution of precision breeding strategy for product development and commercialize hybrids that supply the Seeds & Traits portfolios for slender to bold grain segments.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Prepare and lead in Rice breeding strategy, designing, planning, and implementing breeding projects, development of superior lines and hybrids for specific breeding segments in Bangladesh / south Asia
∎ Provides technical leadership and insight to prioritize develop, implement, and advance innovations into the pipeline and as well support market development and national, regional brands that support the seed & trait portfolios.
∎ Designs, develops, implements, and executes technical strategy required for product development (from yield trial testing to Commercialization) aligned with product concepts and portfolio needs to deliver genetic gain in the short and long term for Rice Bold/MB/Slender Grain pipelines.
∎ Capable in ensuring paddy and rice quality and taste through sophisticated quality control though lab testing and operations
∎ Interacts with partners in Field testing and operations, Analytics and Pipeline Design, Product Design, Market Development and Regional Marketing to assure implementation of technical strategy for developing new commercial products.
∎ Supports new product launches as well as Market Development.
∎ Supports key projects on implementation of precision breeding technical innovations in product development
∎ Supports the Health Safety & Environment, Compliance and Human Rights policies and culture in the site and team
∎ Maintain proper storing of Rice, be capable for doing proper fumigation of rice
∎ Calculate required quantity of RM / PM for planned product / ROFO
∎ Prepare daily production report
∎ Maintain highest standard of quality and skill development in the floor.
∎ Acquire independent troubleshooting capability
∎ Maintaining right relationship with farmers / suppliers / Auto Rice Mill owners / Auto Rice Mill Managers & Technicians, Wholesalers
Additional Requirements:
∎ Knowledge and experience about Auto Rice Mill Operations, Machinery operations, Storing, Quality control, Paddy sourcing, rice marketing etc.
∎ Knowledge and skills on different experimental design and statistical analytical procedure, Agronomy practices, disease & pest identification and solutions, yield contributing characteristics of relevant Crops.
∎ Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to influence colleagues at all levels and operates effectively as proactive way.
∎ Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
∎ Ability to work in a fast moving, changing environment, excellent interpersonal relationship skill.
∎ Having strong knowledge on Agricultural related testing instruments and techniques.
∎ Demonstrate devotion, willingness to work in extended hours and stress conditions.
∎ Excellent IT knowledge especially for MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet skills
∎ Experience in data processing and assessment (using statistical methods and IT tools)
∎ Proficiency in oral and written communication in English
