Job Summary
PROTTYASHI, a social development organization has been responding the Rohingya Crisis in Cox’s Bazar and Bhasan Char since the crisis and relocation has been started and currently is going to implement project in the Rohingya community of Cox’s Bazar with the funding of International Organization of Migration (IOM) to promote self-reliance of the Rohingya population. PROTTYASHI invites applications for the vacant position titled- Business Development Officer for the “Supporting Rohingya Refugees and Host Communities in Cox`s Bazar and Bhasan Char, Bangladesh” Project.
Reporting
Business Development Officer will report to Project Coordinator of PROTTYASHI. S/He has to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers, project teams and organization’s other priority teams. S/He must be able to communicate with other teams and units both program and operational of the organization
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, design, and promote off-farm-based livelihood opportunities among targeted Rohingya community members to enhance self-reliance and income generation.
Conduct market assessments and value chain analyses to identify potential off-farm enterprises (e.g., handicrafts, tailoring, small-scale trading, food processing, service-based businesses).
Facilitate business planning, entrepreneurship development, and financial literacy training for beneficiaries to strengthen their business management capacity.
Support the establishment and operationalization of producer groups, business associations, and micro-enterprises for sustainable off-farm livelihood activities.
Develop market linkages and partnerships with private sector actors, financial institutions, and service providers to improve access to input and output markets.
Assist beneficiaries in product development, quality control, pricing strategies, packaging, and branding to enhance competitiveness and profitability.
Coordinate with relevant government departments, local institutions, and market actors to promote inclusive business models and create enabling environments for off-farm enterprises.
Monitor progress of off-farm businesses and provide technical guidance, mentoring, and follow-up support to ensure sustainability and growth.
Support the Project Coordinator in preparing reports, case studies, and documentation of best practices and lessons learned.
Ensure compliance with PROTTYASHI’s safeguarding, PSEA, and code of conduct policies during all program activities and field engagements.

Salary and benefits: The monthly Gross Salary will be 65,788 BDT along with regular travel and communication allowances.
