Experience:

• At least 1 years

• Minimum HSC with Certification course in Optometry / Diploma / Graduate with Certification on Audiometry. Educational qualification could be flexible for experienced applicants.

• At least 1 years

• Age At most 45 years

• At least 1 year of professional work experience in relevant sectors;

• Have time management, leadership, analytical ability, multitasking, facilitation; communication, presentation, and report writing skills;

• Have adaptability, teamwork, relationship-building, and change management skills;

• Basic mobile software skills and knowledge of MS Excel.

• Have outstanding skills and expertise in communicating by email and the internet.

• Willingness to undertake extensive field trip.

• Prepared to work for long hours in case of emergency in a challenging humanitarian context.

• Hearing test, hearing aid fitting & taking impression of ear mold
• Screening and assessment of affected beneficiaries through state-of-the-art audiometer devices.
• Hearing aid selection with justification, distribution & subsequent follow-up.
• Fitting and adjustment of medium & high-precision hearing aids
• Impression for ear mold
• Referral services when and where applicable
• Visiting all camp locations including Bhasan Char by rotation to meet the requirements as identified in the field and/or other rehab professionals.
• Good knowledge on hearing aid suppliers in Bangladesh to advice procurement team to select appropriate device.
• Conduct training and follow-up for beneficiaries and their caregivers (post-fitting).

Project Support

• Field reports preparation
• Data entry
• Maintain the client database for both services and distribution through SurveyCTO & Master roll.
• Update referral database
• Update Assistive Device database
• Communicate with the referral organization.
• Any other task as assigned by the line manager and/or HQ management.

Safeguarding responsibilities:

• Adhere to CDD's Children and Adults at Risk Safeguarding policy, ensuring the safety and well-being of all project participants;
• Promote a safe and secure environment for all participants and stakeholders of the project;
• Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and follow the designated reporting procedures.

Additional responsibilities:

• Perform any other responsibility/ special duty delegated by project and CDD management.

Job Context:

• The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is a not for profit organization established in 1996 to develop a more inclusive society for persons with disabilities. CDD simultaneously builds technical capacities of the development stakeholders and the communities in how to be more inclusive whilst also enabling persons with a disability to participate in society by strengthening their leadership and providing them with essential rehabilitation and other supports.
• CDD is one of the most renowned organizations in the field of disability-inclusive development. CDD’s work in Bangladesh is supported by international and national donor agencies/development partners. CDD offers an inclusive, amicable, and respectable work environment.

• CDD is now accepting application for ‘Audiometric Technician’ for the project titled “Inclusive Emergency Assistance to Crisis-affected Rohingya Population in CXB and BC, Bangladesh” which will be implemented by the support of HI. The duration of the project is till December 2025 subject to approval of the donor funding.
