Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Assist in sample follow-up including lab dip, fit sample, PP, and shipment samples as per LIDL sample approval checklist.
∎ Update and maintain LIDL-specific tracking sheets and portals (e.g., LIDL Connect, CRL platform).
∎ Coordinate with fabric and trims suppliers for timely booking, based on LIDL standards (Öko-Tex, GOTS, etc.).
∎ Support the merchandising team with test submissions (e.g., REACH, Azo-free, Nickel-free).
∎ Maintain proper records of LIDL test reports, sample comments, and approvals.
∎ Follow up with internal departments (pattern, QA, planning) for T&A deadlines.
∎ Assist in preparing packaging materials and artwork submissions as per LIDL brand guidelines.
∎ Independently handle LIDL orders from sampling to shipment.
∎ Ensure complete understanding of LIDL buyer manuals, technical specs, BOM, size specs, and packaging instructions.
∎ Prepare detailed TNA (Time & Action) plans and ensure all deadlines are strictly followed.
∎ Coordinate all sample stages (Proto, SMS, Fit, Size Set, PP, TOP) and ensure on-time submission with proper documentation.
∎ Communicate with LIDL QC and technical teams to address fit comments, workmanship issues, and testing requirements.
∎ Ensure supplier compliance with LIDL’s social and technical audits (e.g., BSCI, GRS, OEKO-TEX).
∎ Coordinate with QA for inline and final inspections following LIDL’s AQL standards and CRL guidelines.
∎ Manage packaging and label approvals according to LIDL artwork and barcode systems.
∎ Liaise with commercial/shipping teams to ensure timely handover and container planning per LIDL shipment windows.
∎ Manage the entire workflow of LIDL programs from development to delivery across multiple categories.
∎ Finalize costing and consumption sheets ensuring profitability within LIDL’s price-sensitive range.
∎ Ensure all products meet LIDL’s strict compliance, safety, and sustainability standards (e.g., GOTS, RCS, OEKO-TEX 100).
∎ Lead communication with LIDL’s technical team and buying office, resolving issues related to fit, fabric performance, safety standards, and packaging.
∎ Supervise and guide junior merchandisers and assistants to ensure accurate documentation and timely follow-up.
∎ Coordinate third-party lab testing (SGS, BV, TÜV) and ensure results are uploaded before shipment approvals.
∎ Conduct and review pre-production meetings (PPMs) to ensure all departments are aligned with LIDL's requirements.
∎ Ensure all audits, CRL inspections, and factory certifications are up to date and meet LIDL’s sourcing policy.
∎ Generate weekly reports for internal management and buyer updates, highlighting risks and delivery milestones.
∎ Highly documentation-intensive buyer – every approval must be documented.
∎ Focus on eco-certifications (GOTS, OEKO-TEX, FSC packaging).
∎ Strict packaging compliance — barcode, care labels, polybag warnings.
∎ Cost-sensitive buyer — requires tight control over material consumption and wastage.
∎ Strong coordination with 3rd party testing labs, as LIDL has mandatory chemical and safety testing protocols.
