Responsibilities & Context:

Quality Control (QC):

  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the overall quality control process to ensure that food products meet safety and quality standards.
  • Product Testing: Supervise the testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products for compliance with specifications.
  • Process Monitoring: Monitor production processes to identify any deviations from quality standards and implement corrective actions.
  • Training and Supervision: Train and supervise QC team members to ensure adherence to quality standards and proper testing protocols.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Conduct supplier audits, evaluate raw material quality, and work with suppliers to resolve any quality issues.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve any quality issues, complaints, or product defects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for continuous improvement of quality control processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Research & Development (R&D):

  • Product Development: Lead the development of new food products or the enhancement of existing products, ensuring they meet market demand and regulatory requirements.
  • Ingredient Sourcing and Innovation: Research and select new ingredients, additives, and technologies that can improve the taste, quality, or shelf-life of products.
  • Process Optimization: Work closely with production teams to scale up the production of new products, ensuring manufacturing processes are optimized for cost and quality.
  • Market Trend Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor products to guide product innovation and improve competitiveness.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis for new products, ensuring profitability while maintaining product quality and safety.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and audits; prepare reports for internal teams and regulatory bodies.
