Responsibilities & Context:
  • Oversee all legal matters of the organization, coordinating and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Minimize legal risks by working closely with management to develop effective and sustainable defense strategies; apply risk management techniques and provide proactive legal counsel by assessing various risk factors related to business decisions and operations.

  • Draft and/or review legal documents, including letters, contracts, and agreements; monitor contractual obligations to ensure full compliance as required by the company.

  • Play a key role in credit recovery through appropriate legal action or negotiation on behalf of the company.

  • Initiate legal proceedings and represent the organization before law enforcement agencies, courts, and other relevant authorities.

  • Foster harmonious industrial relations and ensure a peaceful working environment for uninterrupted plant operations.

  • Safeguard all legal documents and prepare necessary materials for trials or court proceedings.

  • Liaise with external legal counsel, law firms, and consultants as needed in relevant cases.

  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards and all applicable legal regulations.

  • Maintain communication with relevant government bodies such as BIDA, Department of Environment, BSTI, Immigration Authority, and other applicable agencies as necessary.

  • Ensure strict compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and requirements.

  • Ensure organizational compliance with national laws, internal policies, and global standards, including anti-corruption, competition law, and human rights, while promoting company culture and leadership principles.

  • Carry out any additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, as and when required.
