∎ Project Summary:
∎ Over 1 million of Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Citizen (with the majority comprising women and children), took shelter in camps in Cox`s Bazar in southern Bangladesh on August 2017. The Government of Bangladesh, together with national and international partners, have pro-actively responding to this crisis with a massive humanitarian response, allocating 2,000 acres of land and coordinating and providing critical assistance such as food, nutrition, shelter, water, health & hygiene, and psycho-social and basic education services to the camps, settlements and host communities. ActionAid is implementing site management activities in Camp 11 and 12 funded by IOM. Besides, ActionAid have few ongoing programmes in different sectors e.g. Protection, WASH, NFI etc. inside the camps. As a response agency since September 2017, ActionAid has developed relationships with a range of camp actors, including the Rohingya and their representatives and successfully doing the site management role. ActionAid is working with IOM to address critical humanitarian gaps and need through site management by coordination & collaboration with different stakeholders. Information management, linking community with different service providers, camp operations, and DRR and site improvement are the major activities of site management project.
∎ Relationships:
∎ S/he will report to Team- Leader- Community Engagement of Site Management in Mainnerghonna Project of ActionAid Bangladesh. S/he is expected to maintain functional relationship with his/her peers in team, priority, project management team. S/he must be able to communicate with other teams and units, both programme and function of AAB.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
∎
∎ Assist in formation of different community groups and committees;
∎ Organize and facilitate focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews (KIIs), in-depth interviews (IDIs), meetings, awareness sessions and consultations at the community level;
∎ Assist in conducting community-level needs assessments;
∎ Assist in raising community awareness through meetings, awareness sessions, discussions, etc.;
∎ Prepare reports on needs and gaps analyses conducted;
∎ Identify and address gaps in the delivery of services to the community;
∎ Ensure coordination among different community groups, Majhis and service providers;
∎ Assist in fostering amicable good relations between the Rohingya people and the host community;
∎ Conduct regular visits at the household level and help the programme beneficiaries solve their challenges;
∎ Any other tasks assigned by the line manager;
Additional Requirements:
∎ Proven experience in any field operations for at least one year.
∎ Candidates with experience in humanitarian response will be given preference.
∎ Any other requirements relevant to the position:
∎ Good interpersonal skills with the ability to gain trust and build relationships.
∎ Assiduous, self-motivated and results-oriented and have a demonstrated ability to work individually and with a team.
∎ Ability to write quality reports in English.
∎ Ability to speak the Chittagonian dialect will be a plus point.
Salary:
∎ Monthly Gross Salary will be BDT. 35,000 other admissible benefits Such as Mobile Allowance, Medical Allowance and Group Insurance.
