Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Legal Information and Research
∎ Legislation Compilation and Updates
∎ Paralegal Development and Supervision
∎ Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
∎ Field Monitoring and Reporting

∎ Case Monitoring and Analysis
∎ Documentation and Reporting
∎ Participation in Meetings and Programs
∎ General Support and Other Duties
∎ Serve as the focal point for all legal information searches for the program and sectors.
∎ Gather and compile relevant laws and legislation for organizational use.
∎ Stay updated on national and international laws and regulations.
∎ Assist the Department Head in incorporating these laws and regulations into various initiatives.
∎ Lead the development of Friendship Community paralegals by guiding, assisting, and developing legal manuals covering laws and procedures.
∎ Supervise functional activities of Project Officers Legals and Friendship Community Paralegals.
∎ Review and analyze monthly reports from paralegals and maintain regular contact with them.
∎ Regularly maintain relationships with the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) under the Ministry of LAW and Justice, SCLAO, DLAC, and other stakeholders.
∎ Maintain contact with various courts, NGOs, and national and international organizations dealing with law, justice, and governance.·
∎ Monitor the activities of the Law Officer who is working at the NLASO
∎ Visit field offices (approximately 25% travel) to monitor the Legal Information Booth.
∎ Prepare detailed reports on field visits.
∎ Conduct training sessions for the development of Friendship Community Paralegals and beneficiaries.
∎ Collaborate with government agencies for training and conduct court visits for Community Paralegals.
∎ Monitor ongoing cases and provide regular updates.
∎ Maintain consistent communication with district-level penal lawyers.
∎ Collect and analyze impactful cases from the char area.
∎ Follow up on cases for at least six months and regularly report findings to management.
∎ Prepare submissions, articles, and reports for external agencies.
∎ Present at conferences and public forums.
∎ Participate in relevant meetings, training sessions, and programs.
∎ Perform any other relevant duties as required or delegated.
∎ Completion of Bachelor of Laws (Master of Laws will get preference)
∎ Must have membership of the Lower Court (Membership of the Supreme Court will get preference)
∎ Applicants should be highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
∎ Very comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Bangla composing skills, internet navigation, etc.).
∎ Three years of working experience in a relevant field
∎ Demonstrated interest in judicial reform, access to justice, and legal aid services for the poor.
∎ Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to achieve complex results under strict deadlines.
∎ Demonstrated commitment to ethics, transparency, and accountability in program implementation.
∎ Excellent spoken and written English and Bangla.
