Strong knowledge of 4-point inspection system, fabric quality parameters, and buyer compliance standards (e.g., Decathlon, ZARA, PVH, GAP, etc.).
Excellent understanding of fabric types, construction, GSM, shrinkage, and color consistency.
Responsibilities & Context:
Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager – Fabrics Inspection will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming fabrics meet buyer quality standards and technical specifications before being released for production. The role requires close coordination with the QA, Audit & Technical teams to identify fabric defects, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain fabric quality consistency across all styles and orders.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage the fabric inspection process as per buyer requirements and internal SOPs.
Monitor the 4-point inspection system to ensure accurate evaluation of fabric quality.
Review inspection reports and take corrective actions in case of quality deviations.
Coordinate with the Fabric Store, Merchandising, and Technical teams to resolve fabric quality issues.
Verify fabric test reports, GSM, shade band, shrinkage, and other technical parameters.
Ensure fabric roll tagging, record keeping, and traceability.
Conduct random audits on received fabrics to validate supplier inspection.
Communicate with suppliers for quality claim settlements when applicable.
Support QA management during buyer audits and technical evaluations.
Train and guide inspectors to enhance inspection accuracy and efficiency.
