We invite experienced safety professionals to lead the Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) function across multiple landmark high-rise developments. The role focuses on driving a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with EHS standards, proactively managing risks and safeguarding all personnel. It involves coordinating teams and stakeholders to deliver projects safely, achieving a zero-harm workplace through effective leadership and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
Create, implement and enforce best safety practices in the workplace that meet company and regulatory standards, such as workplace safety and health management systems and environmental management systems.
Prepare workplace safety and health training materials related to the operations, work processes and maintenance of machinery and equipment to enable employees to carry out their work safely and efficiently.
Lead daily morning toolbox talks with the assistance of the responsible project-in-charge. Administer the site safety orientation training for all workers, including contractors and visitors, before starting work or visiting the site.
Conduct a rigorous inspection of the working areas to identify site hazards and non-conformance’s and log the details of the observations on the daily observation register.
Ensure that contractor personnel working on the projects follow company safety policies; engage contractors and their supervisors for feedback and follow-up actions on changes and implementation of any safety measures.
Perform risk assessment on various tasks such as deep excavation, concreting, shuttering work, heavy equipment installation and operation, etc.
Monitor hot works and recommend fire and explosion prevention solutions; provide general field guidance on other work permits (e.g., confined space entry, lock-out/tag-out), working at heights, excavations, rigging and lifting and other safe work practices.
Assess working platforms and certify them before use, like scaffolds and suspended platforms.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy and report immediately to the project-in-charge of any serious safety breaches that place workers in life-threatening situations.
Formulate and implement a comprehensive, holistic approach to firefighting training for all relevant stakeholders-active firefighters, reservist firefighters and contractors to ensure that they are proficient in the firefighting techniques and exercises on how to manage emergencies.
Immediate response to incidents and emergencies that occur on-site, acting as an emergency fire warden and providing first aid.
Inspect, test and certify all machinery, equipment and tools, including third-party assets, such as the Rotary Drilling Rig, Tower Crane and Construction Passenger Hoist, on a regular basis to ensure they meet safety standards; instruct repairs for unsafe and/or damaged equipment if necessary.
Assure proper storage and labeling of hazardous materials.
Ensure proper traffic management within the site and outside in cases of road work, i.e., Dump Truck movement during deep excavation, unloading and shifting of heavy-equipment materials, and ready-mix concrete pumping operations during concreting.
Place safety signage, posters, hazard flashes and site safety campaign promotional material as per OSHA and ANSI standards.
Create and disseminate daily, weekly and monthly reports such as accident investigation reports, near-miss incident reports and incident reports, including recommended preventive action for control of hazards.
Perform any additional managerial duties as assigned by senior leadership.
