Position: Assistant Manager/ Deputy Manager, Underwriting

Job Context: Overall responsible for Insurance Underwriting

Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyze applications, financial data, background info, and statistical data to determine the risk level of insuring a client or asset.

  • Decide whether to accept or decline applications, and if accepted, set appropriate coverage amounts and terms.

  • Calculate competitive and profitable premiums based on risk analysis and company guidelines.

  • Prepare policy documents, endorsements, debit notes, and ensure accuracy.

  • Communicate with clients, and sometimes regulatory boards to gather information and discuss terms.

  • Use underwriting software and analyze data to support decisions and generate reports.

  • Ensure all underwriting activities comply with insurance laws, regulations, and internal standards.

  • Review renewals, handle complex files, and support the overall underwriting portfolio.
