Job Context:
∎ Working as Tax Assistant Manager of Corporate Tax & VAT Unit in the Group Finance Division to manage Tax & VAT and prepare & submit all related reports & returns.
∎ Designation: Officer/SO
Job Responsibilities:
∎ To have a thorough knowledge of all direct and indirect tax laws applicable in Bangladesh.
∎ To prepare & submit Corporate Tax & VAT returns as per regulatory timeline.
∎ To prepare provisional current tax expenses on a quarterly basis and to finalize the amount to charge in annual accounts.
∎ To prepare all schedules related to tax and VAT returns and to calculate the amount of advance tax as per provision of Income Tax Ordinance 1984.
∎ Preparing grounds of appeal and attending the hearing of the appeal conducted by the tax & VAT authority.
∎ Preparation and submission of various statements including meeting queries of Tax authority at different stages of the taxation process i.e. assessment (LTU), Appeal, Tribunal etc.
∎ Preparing opinions on various issues received from branches & other divisions as per tax law.
∎ To develop an effective and efficient system of TAX management for the Bank.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 5 to 7 years of work experience (including CA training period) in taxation management under the Finance Division of a Bank.
∎ CA course completed/ CA partly qualified/ITP will be preferred.
∎ Adequate knowledge on tax laws applicable in Bangladesh and capacity to handle assessment procedure at all levels as per tax laws.
