Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Accounts & Finance to join our dynamic Finance team at our prestigious Five-Star Hotel. The Assistant Manager will support the Manager/Sr. Manager [A&F] in managing the hotel’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with internal and regulatory standards, and contributing to overall financial health and profitability of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee daily financial transactions including revenue auditing, expense tracking, inventory reconciliation, and cash/bank operations.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements in coordination with the Finance Manager.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts; monitor departmental expenditures and ensure alignment with budgeted targets.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Manage vendor payments, staff claims, and guest billing; monitor collections and ensure timely reconciliation of receivables and payables.

Internal Control & Compliance:

  • Maintain financial controls by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; ensure compliance with statutory regulations (VAT, Tax, NBR reporting).

Audit & Coordination:

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors; ensure timely completion of audits and resolution of audit queries.

Payroll Management:

  • Coordinate with the HR Department to process monthly payroll, maintain employee advances and deductions, and ensure statutory deductions (PF, EWF, taxes) are deposited timely.

Inventory & Cost Control:

  • Assist in monthly stock verification; ensure accurate costing and control over food, beverage, linen, and general store items.

System & Software:

  • Maintain and operate financial systems (e.g., Tally, IDS, or other ERP tools); ensure smooth integration between front office and back office systems.

Team Support & Supervision:

  • Guide and supervise junior accountants and cashiers; ensure accurate and timely data entry and reconciliation across all financial areas.
