Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in shipping/logistics operations, with at least 5 years in senior leadership/branch management.
- Experience in freight forwarding is also encouraged to apply.
Additional Requirements:
- Expertise in claims handling, cargo disputes, and vessel berthing procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and shipping software.
- Excellent written and spoken English & Bangla.

Position Overview
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Chattogram Branch In-Charge will be responsible for the strategic leadership, operational excellence, and business growth of our Chattogram office. This is a senior leadership role that requires strong shipping knowledge, people management skills, and the ability to maintain strong relationships with port, customs, and government authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Branch & Operational Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the Chattogram branch, including cargo handling, logistics, documentation, and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, CPA policies, and international shipping standards.
- Manage budgeting, cost control, and revenue growth.
- Represent the company at CPA daily berthing meetings and liaise with key authorities.
Vessel & Shipping Operations
- Supervise vessel clearance, berthing, loading/unloading, crew changes, and customs documentation.
- Ensure timely completion of IGM/EGM, customs clearance, waiver certificates, and ship certificates.
- Monitor claims, cargo disputes, and ensure compliance with MMD, DG Shipping, and Port Health Office requirements.
Business Development & Client Relations
- Build and maintain strong relationships with importers, exporters, freight forwarders, and port officials.
- Drive business expansion by exploring new shipping opportunities and service offerings.
- Conduct market research and stay updated on competitors’ activities.
Reporting & Team Development
- Provide regular reports to senior management with operational updates and KPIs.
- Lead and develop branch employees, ensuring high morale, motivation, and productivity.
- Implement training and mentoring programs to build a skilled and loyal workforce.
