Job Context:
∎ Integrated Development Foundation (IDF) is a non-profit, non-political development organization established in December 1992. Mission of IDF is to combat poverty in the impassable hilly regions and other un-served areas of Bangladesh by providing poor citizens with financial and opportunities such as capital, inputs, appropriate safety nets and services to ensure their socio-economic upliftment. IDF invites application from the potential candidates for the following position under the Department of Agricultural Development (DAD).
∎ Department of Agricultural Development (DAD) is aimed to operate programme, research and development projects and diversified agricultural enterprises. It is the leading agricultural integrator in the Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh. Currently, this department is housed with 6 programme, 6 development projects, 1 research projects and two agricultural enterprises like IDF Veterinary Services and IDF Biofertilizer. To impact the world three times, this department is motivated to conduct agricultural research, development, extension and agribusiness development through connecting multi-sectorial people from various segment of the society. This department is working relentlessly to address the entire value chain of locally available agricultural commodities. Therefore, this department is seeking a right person to take the leadership role of the management and Agricultural activities of this department.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The duties and responsibilities of Assistant Coordinator are as follows:
∎ To assist in routine operation and management of the agricultural activities of Department of Agricultural Development (DAD)
∎ Operation of programme, projects and enterprises under the Department of Agricultural Development
∎ Routine operation and monitoring of Field Organizer, Programme Organizer, Senior Programme Organizer and Programme Managers.
∎ Ensure regular technical and management support to Field Organizer, Programme Organizer, Senior Programme Organizer and Programme Managers.
∎ Identify the farmers to involve them with development programme and projects
∎ Disseminate improved agricultural management practices/technologies to the farmers
∎ Provide technical guidance to farmers on small/medium agricultural farm management
∎ Monitoring the IDF agricultural farms, demonstrations and research projects
∎ Connect beneficiaries and ensure timely technical support
∎ Provide training to Field Organizers, Officers, Managers, farmers and project participants
∎ Administer “You Tube” Channel for Agricultural Extension
∎ Prepare training manual, demonstrative materials development, training schedule and training budget
∎ Organize exposure visit, workshop and seminar
∎ Develop Agricultural enterprise like safe vegetable, Biofertilizer, seed and other agricultural venture
∎ Organize animal health and environmental health campaign
∎ Organize animal vaccine campaign
∎ Coordination or liaison with government official of DLS, DAE and DoF offices and Union Parishod
∎ Prepare and submit timely report to respective supervisor
∎ Develop progress reports, case studies, chronicles and magazines
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Minimum 8 (eight) years’ work experience in Agricultural Extension field in Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts as a Senior Programme Organizer or equivalent
∎ Minimum 8 (eight) years’ work experience in Agricultural demonstration, workshop, training and publication with PKSF aided programme and projects in Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts
∎ The candidate must have sound knowledge and experiences in Hill Agriculture
∎ Five (5) years’ research experience in livestock research project (KGF aided) in hill tracts as a Co-Principal Investigator.
∎ Must have knowledge and experiences in Agri enterprise development and operations
∎ Must have experience in production and extension of safe vegetable and fruit production in the Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh.
∎ Must have knowledge and experience in integrated agriculture in Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts
∎ Must have knowledge and experiences in animal feed and fodder production in Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts
∎ Must have sound knowledge in ICT
∎ Must have working experiences in Roof-top gardening in Chittagong/Dhaka district with financial aid of Food and Agricultural Organization
∎ Must have expertise in project management, project planning, training and reporting
∎ Apart from plant science/horticulture, the candidate must have sound knowledge and experience in cattle development and extension of Red Chittagong Cattle, Goyal, Black Bengal Goat, Sheep and Hilly Chicken in Chittagong and Chittagong Hill Tracts.
