∎ The Area Coordinator is accountable to the Upazila Coordinator for achieving assigned targets, ensuring adherence to program requirements, and maintaining program quality standards across field operations.

∎ ACCOUNTABILITY:
∎ The Area Coordinator is accountable to the Upazila Coordinator for achieving assigned targets, ensuring adherence to program requirements, and maintaining program quality standards across field operations.
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Implement project activities as outlined in the HICRA Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP) and localised Detailed Action Plan for the Area, ensuring high standards and timely completion
∎ Facilitate accurate and timely Area-level data collection and entry into the HICRA monitoring system
∎ Develop monthly work plans and align staff schedules with Area-specific priorities.
∎ Lead monthly meetings to track progress, identify challenges, and mobilize team support
∎ Ensure that frontline staff receive appropriate tools, guidance, and compliance training to carry out their roles effectively.
∎ Collaborate with technical officers and master trainers to organize and support Trainer of Trainer sessions for frontline staff
∎ Collaborate with finance and operations teams to meet administrative requirements for field activities.
∎ Conduct regular field visits to observe, support, and troubleshoot activities with frontline staff, ensuring alignment with GYSI principles
∎ Provide oversight of frontline staff engaged in the implementation of ultra poor graduation approach, enhanced homestead food production and other livelihoods and income generating focused interventions, in addition to Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA), WASH, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and natural resource management (NRM) activities within the Area
∎ Collaborate with Technical Officers to integrate WASH, DRR and NRM best practices into regular program activities
∎ Support frontline staff in promoting environmentally sustainable practices that reduce resource depletion, protect biodiversity and ensure compliance with USAID environmental regulation 216
∎ Promote inclusive program practices that engage women, youth, and marginalized groups, addressing barriers to participation.
∎ Collaborate with the M&E team to collect and analyze GYSI-related data, identifying ways to strengthen program inclusivity and equitable outcomes
∎ Provide timely updates to the Upazila Coordinator on progress, challenges, and emerging needs within the Area
∎ Act as a primary point of contact for Union-level stakeholders, including local government and traditional leaders, facilitating program support and addressing community concern
∎ Collaborate with local NGOs and other programs to maximize collaboration, avoid duplication, and leverage resources for greater impact.
∎ Compile and submit timely monthly and ad-hoc reports to the Upazila Coordinator, coordinating with M&E staff for data consolidation.
∎ Share meeting minutes from Area-level coordination meetings, noting action points and updates.
∎ Document and report any issues observed during field visits that may impact program implementation or compliance.
∎ ROLE
∎ The Area Coordinator will support the implementation and management of HICRA activities within his/her designated implementation “Area” (typically one or more unions), ensuring the quality, timeliness, and responsiveness of field activities. The Areas Coordinator will oversee frontline staff, support operational needs, and ensure that all program activities meet targets and address community needs, including Ultra Poor Graduation (UPG), Enhanced Homestead Food Production, Income Generating Activities (IGA), Market Development and other livelihoods-focused interventions, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), WASH and sustainable Natural Resource Management (NRM) to enhance wellbeing.
∎ The Area Coordinator will manage and track program activities against the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP), managing for results in terms of program service delivery, data collection, documentation, and community engagement. This role involves management of frontline staff, and collaboration with technical leads and officers, the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team, and the gender, youth, social inclusion (GYSI) and protection specialist.
