Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Contribute climate-resilient food systems in field level based on agro-ecology.
∎ Lead the design and implementation of agro-ecological practices within the project, ensuring they are tailored to the local environment and socio-economic conditions of Bangladesh.
∎ Provide technical guidance and training to local farmers, community organizations, and project partners on sustainable agricultural practices, including organic farming, soil health management, crop diversification, and integrated pest management.
∎ Support to strengthen local agroecological food systems through operational structures and multi-stakeholder cooperation at all levels.
∎ Assist farmers for field level various activities i.e., the production, processing, distribution, preparation, and consumption of food.
∎ Advisory services and technical support for the teams in terms of agro-ecology, monitoring, evaluation, learning, marketing, etc.
∎ Initiatives for integrated Agroecological approaches into existing government advisory systems and policy/planning mechanisms to reach a large number of smallholder farmers.
∎ Provide support to PC for overall management for The Green Evolution project implementation.
∎ Assist in development and implement the project work plan, ensuring efficient and timely execution of activities.
∎ Support the project coordinators in the day-to-day coordination of the programme.
∎ Support for conducting baseline studies, research, monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.
∎ Ensure an effective learning culture is embedded in the project.
∎ Monitoring outcomes, procedures and decision-making processes.
∎ Liaise with relevant government agencies and local communities to facilitate project implementation.

Besides, the organization is conducting issue based policy advocacy and campaigns. WAVE is driven by its motto 'Together for Better Life’ towards the vision of establishing 'A just and Prosperous society’. WAVE has organized its activities into 6 programmes: 1) Poverty Eradication and Livelihood Development 2) Community Financing and Entrepreneurship Development 3) Agri-Food System Transformation 4) Governance, Rights and Justice 5) Social Development and Youth Empowerment 6) Climate Justice and Renewable Energy Promotion. WAVE Foundation is going to implement a four years (04) Global Programme ‘The Green Evolution: Pathways to Transforming Food Systems in India, Bangladesh and Nepal’, supported by Private German sponsor Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e.V. (WHH) at Singair Upazilla of Manikgonj District with the objective to strengthen local agroecological food systems through improved policy frameworks, operational structures and multi-stakeholder cooperation at all levels. The project aims to contribute climate-resilient food systems for all people in the country based on agro-ecology. The project intends to accomplish various activities i.e., the production, processing, distribution, preparation, and consumption of food, as well as the outcomes of these interactions in the fields of food and nutrition, socioeconomics, and the environment. For implementing the project WAVE Foundation is seeking qualified candidate for the position of the ‘Agroecology Expert’ in it’s Project Management Unit (PMU) of this project.

∎ Job Summary
∎ The Agro-Ecology Expert will play a key role in driving the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices within ‘The Green Evolution’ project. This expert will be responsible for integrating ecological principles into farming systems, enhancing the resilience of local food systems, and promoting biodiversity conservation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agro-ecology, sustainable agriculture, and a deep understanding of the local context in Bangladesh.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ Monthly gross salary will be BDT 80,000-90,000/- (including all)
