Responsibilities & Context:
1. Livestock & Dairy Management:
Manage daily care, feeding, and breeding of dairy cattle or other farm animals.
Supervise milking operations, ensuring proper hygiene and milk quality.
Coordinate with veterinarians for animal health, vaccination, and treatments.
Monitor milk yield and overall animal productivity.
2. Farm Operations & Supervision:
Lead and supervise a team of farm workers and animal caretakers.
Ensure clean and safe animal housing, sheds, and farm surroundings.
Implement biosecurity and animal welfare protocols.
3. Cash & Sales Management:
Handle daily cash transactions from milk and dairy product sales.
Maintain accurate sales records and daily cash books.
Ensure timely deposit and reporting of cash to the accounts team.
Uphold transparency and accountability in all financial dealings.
4. Feed & Inventory Management:
Monitor feed stock, plan daily rations, and ensure optimal nutrition.
Track usage of feed, medicines, and consumables.
Coordinate procurement and storage of farm supplies.
5. Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain records of livestock inventory, milk production, feed usage, and farm expenses.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports to management.
Track animal health history, breeding cycles, and productivity.
6. Compliance & Farm Safety:
Ensure adherence to regulatory, hygiene, and environmental standards.
Train staff on safety practices and emergency procedures.
Promote sustainable and ethical farming methods.
