Job Summary
The agriculture officer is a position in the PRAGATI, based at Ramjannagar union under Shyamnagar Upazila of Satkhira district. The agriculture officer is going to be responsible for the implementation of the project activities at the project area, which comprises of Unions/Villages. The Agriculture officer is responsible for managing the agricultural activities of the project ensuring that they are carried out in compliance with relevant regulations and best practices. This includes conducting training, field-level innovative activities, developing Income Generating Activities (IGA), value chain and providing technical assistance and support to Program participants.
Key responsibilities include (not limited to):
Training Responsibilities
Developing and providing training materials and sessions related to climate resilience strategies and their implementation for beneficiaries.
Offering practical workshops, field demonstrations, and training on high-value vegetable farming and techniques.
Designing and delivering training sessions on income generation techniques and climate-resilient agricultural practices.
Training on crop production, pest management, marketing, and financing strategies to ensure effective implementation of the project.
Organizing training programs to inform beneficiaries about sustainable practices, pest management, and conservation methods.
Conducting training on income-generating activities with a focus on climate resilience, supporting beneficiaries in developing these skills.
Documentation Responsibilities
Documenting all plans and interventions, including goals, timelines, and strategies, ensuring compliance and consistency in the project.
Documenting the formation of community-based organizations (CBOs), including their objectives, structure, and roles in market collection.
Documenting the results of monitoring and evaluations, including the identification of successful strategies and areas for improvement.
Keeping records of communications and activities related to coordination with the LRP-54 project staff and other relevant stakeholders.
Documenting additional tasks, ensuring transparency and tracking of responsibilities as they are assigned.
Support Responsibilities:
Providing logistical support for organizing meetings, training sessions, and community consultations related to CBOs and micro-entrepreneur groups.
Providing operational support for the creation and management of seed banks and sustainable fertilizer production initiatives.
Coordinating communication and collaboration with external stakeholders to ensure the smooth flow of information and resources.
Coordinating and managing travel schedules for project-related visits, ensuring logistical support for field staff and beneficiaries.
Supporting both office and field-based teams with the tools, materials, and resources required for effective project implementation.
Relationships
The incumbent will report to Hub Coordinator.
Monthly Gross Salary will be BDT. 25,607 with other admissible benefits such as medical insurance for staff and immediate family members, group life insurance, mobile & festival bonus etc, as per HROD Policy.
