Education:

  • Minimum 03 years of experience in a senior managerial role (AGM/DGM level).

  • Strong communication & negotiation skills.

  • Sound knowledge of customs, bond & export-import policy.

  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.

  • Sound and practical knowledge on Import and Export Procedure inside EPZ as well outside EPZ under BGMEA/BKMEA/BIDA/BLMAOTHER Authority.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and email communication.



Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context:

GMS Trims Ltd. is a reputed Garments Accessories Manufacturing Company looking for a skilled and experienced professional to lead Commercial Department. The candidate must have strong knowledge in Export-Import, Bond, Banking, Documentation, and Customs-related activities.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Export-Import Management:

  • Prepare, review, and maintain all export and import documents including L/C, UD, EXP, IMP, Bill of Entry, Invoice, Packing List, and Bill of Lading HAWB, releasing order, urgent delivery etc.
  • Monitor all export and import shipment schedules to ensure timely delivery and clearance.
  • Ensure relevant HS Code and harmonize clearance the shipment.
  • Properly communication with C&F, BEPZA, Custom and BIDA.
  • Maintain effective communication with freight forwarders, shipping lines, C&F agents, buyers, suppliers, and banks.
  • Ensure timely realization of export proceeds and proper closing of export files.

 2. Bond & Customs Operations :

  • Handle bond license renewal, general bond license, utilization permission, and maintain the bond register accurately.
  • Liaise with customs, bond offices, and other regulatory authorities for smooth operational processes.
  • Prepare and submit raw material release, wastage calculation, bond consumption, and utilization reports on time.
  • Ensure readiness and representation during customs/bond audits and handle any audit queries efficiently.

 3. Banking & L/C Operation:

  • Manage local and foreign L/C opening, amendment, acceptance, negotiation, and settlement independently.
  • Follow up with banks for acceptance, fund management, reimbursement, BTB maturity & other banking activities and payment schedules.
  • Maintain records of import payments, EDF, FDBC, LDBC, and other bank-related transactions.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statements and commercial summaries accurately.

 4. Commercial Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain all commercial files systematically and ensure proper document tracking and filing.
  • Keep updated knowledge of Export-Import Policy Orders, Customs Acts, and Bond Rules.
  • Provide commercial support during buyer audits, compliance inspections, and regulatory visits.
  • Ensure all government and non-government compliance requirements are strictly followed.

 5. Communication & Coordination:

  • Maintain strong liaison with buyers, suppliers, freight forwarders, and bank representatives.
  • Coordinate closely with Planning, Store, Production, Accounts, and Purchase departments for smooth workflow.
  • Take immediate corrective actions in case of shipment delays or document discrepancies.

 6. Leadership & Team Management:

  • Supervise, guide, and motivate the commercial team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for efficient commercial operations.
  • Ensure team discipline, accountability, and professional development.

 7. Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports on export, import, shipment status, LC updates, and fund flow.
  • Analyze export performance, financial exposure, and shipment targets; recommend process improvements.
  • Suggest and implement cost-saving measures and operational efficiency plans.
