Job Responsibilities

• Ensure proper calculation, deduction, and deposition of all applicable taxes (AIT, VAT, TDS, etc.) as per government rules.

• Prepare, review, and submit all tax and VAT returns (monthly, quarterly, and annually) accurately and within deadlines.

• Maintain liaison with NBR, VAT offices, and other relevant authorities for compliance and issue resolution.

• Oversee tax planning and ensure optimization of tax liabilities within legal frameworks.

• Handle income tax assessment, appeal, and audit-related matters effectively.

• Verify all vendor and supplier invoices for tax and VAT deduction compliance.

• Guide and train team members on updated tax laws and practices.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax laws, SROs, and circulars relevant to the garments and textile sector.

• Provide management with tax impact analysis, risk assessments, and cost-saving recommendations.

• Support external and internal auditors with required tax-related documentation and clarifications.

Academic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from a reputed university.

• Professional qualifications such as CA (CC), CMA, or MBA (Finance) will be preferred.

• Sound knowledge of Bangladesh Income Tax Ordinance, VAT Act, and Customs Rules.

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the Garments and Textile sector.

• Experience in a large group of companies will be considered an added advantage.

Other Requirements:

• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
