Job Context:
∎ The aim of the project is "To reduce the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the lives of women, men, girls and boys with disabilities, their families and other at-risk communities in higher risk districts of Bangladesh through strengthened leadership capacities of organizations of persons with disabilities in Bangladesh".
∎ Considering COVID-19 Pandemic, the project will focus on activities related to inclusive COVID-19 health facilities, mental health care provision, inclusive basic assistance support and disability mainstreaming in COVID-19 response, including inclusion into social protection opportunities.
∎ The Centre for Disability in Development (CDD) is inviting applications from competent candidates for the following positions for immediate recruitment for a project on Inclusive COVID-19 Response supported by CBM.
∎ This project will be implemented by CDD, Umbrella Organizations of Persons with Disabilities and in partnerships with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) in different locations of Bangladesh.
∎ The duration of this project is till December 31, 2020.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Implement the Disability Mainstreaming component of the project - to support UOs and OPDs to facilitate the process of influencing and extending advisory services by persons with disabilities to mainstream organizations to include persons with disabilities in its COVID-19 and other development work, in respective geo locations.
∎ Work closely with team members under the guidance of the Project Coordinator to facilitate the overall Advocacy and Inclusion related component of the project.
∎ Work with resource persons, UOs, OPDs, other actors on Advocacy - assessing needs - designing advocacy campaign and its effective implementation as per support available to the project.
∎ Support capacity strengthening process of the OPDs on advocacy in coordination with UOs, where needed.
∎ Development of Policy briefs and Advocacy Plan jointly with OPDs, UOs, CBM and CDD targeting Ministries and Working Groups for national level, the LGIs, UNOs and DC for local level and concerned Mainstream Agencies at both national & local level
∎ Inventory and mapping the available service provisions and other opportunities in government and non-government agencies in the project locations.
∎ Adaptation, contextualization and rewriting of existing COVID-19 and Disability Materials as policy briefs targeting the sectors of Health & MH, Multi-Purpose Cash Grant, Social Protection, Livelihood and Needs Assessment.
∎ Collective advocacy initiatives with similar platforms, networks & alliances.
∎ Work with Senior Psychologist for advocating with concerned authorities for approval for replication and integration of the MH model into existing structure and service provision in the country.
∎ Facilitate different advocacy activities of the project,
∎ Facilitate media campaign and establish contacts with media,
∎ Prepare media/press briefing.
∎ Facilitate inclusive targeting process of the project
∎ Prepare learning documents and project briefs following inclusive targeting and post distribution satisfaction survey
∎ Support implementation process of Advocacy Plans on agreed advocacy agendas
Additional Requirements:

∎ Proven experience of advocacy campaign design and implementation of the plan accordingly
∎ Track record on advocacy related engagement with Government agencies, and clear outcome resulting from the advocacy initiatives
∎ Clear understanding on disability Inclusion in the mainstream development process
∎ Experience of working with OPDs / SHGs / persons with disabilities
∎ Good communication and interpersonal skills
∎ Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Salary: Tk. 75000 - 80000 (Monthly)
