Job Context:
∎ Type of Contract: Fixed Term Contract up to 31 August 2022
∎ Duty Station: Head Office, Dhaka with frequent field visit to the project site
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Take the lead in engaging programme team and partnering designing and implementing advocacy strategies, plans and campaigns to ensure accountability of service providers to building flood resilience.
∎ Support the development and roll-out of Concern's wider organisation advocacy strategies and plans in coordination with the Programmes Director and relevant Head of Contexts.
∎ Represent Concern in strengthening the effectiveness of existing networks within Bangladesh amongst key advocacy partners, sectoral actors, networks, forums, and issue-specific national level platforms.
∎ Work closely with the Programme Manager and partner for dissemination of best practice etc. across different government levels and effective upstream and downstream communication with key stakeholders, government, donors, NGO, civil society etc.
∎ Work closely with Knowledge and Learning Advisor, Communications Coordinator and Programme Manager to document best practices and evidence to support advocacy work in the project and using it to contribute to Meso and Macro level advocacy campaigns, as outlined as project objectives.
∎ Promoting and ensuring compliance with the requirements of Concern's Code of Conduct and its associated safeguarding policies and Core Humanitarian Standards of Accountability (CHS) to ensure maximum protection to programme beneficiaries, and to welcome feedback.
∎ Any other duties as specified by the Line Manager/Country Director.
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least eight (08) years progressively responsible professional work experience in a development organisation/non-governmental organisation. Among which two (02) years should be in leadership and Strategic role
∎ A good understanding of the policies, institutions and funding mechanisms related to flood resilience in Bangladesh.
∎ Experience of working within a network or consortium
∎ At least 5 years' relevant experience with a proven ability to apply advocacy techniques for pro-poor development at local and national levels, particularly in DRR and Flood Resilience.
∎ Experienced in pre-testing and concept testing advocacy and campaign tools, approaches, methodologies and content;
∎ Strong organisational skills, and ability to lead a stream of work;
∎ Proficient writing and verbal communication skills;
∎ Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English; fluent in Bangla language.
∎ Ability to work independently as well as in cooperation with a multi-cultural team;
∎ Ability to think creatively and strategically;
Salary:
∎ Tk. 1030752 (Yearly)
∎ Annual Gross Salary range: BDT 1,030,752/-
