Education:
∎ Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Youth Development, Community Development, Environnement or in any relevant field. A Master's Degree is preferred, but applicants with extensive relevant work experience will be considered equally.

∎ Minimum 5 years of professional working experience in the field of implementing youth- or gender-focused activities within development, humanitarian, or community-based projects.
∎ Understanding of gender mainstreaming, youth participation models, and intersectionality.
∎ Experience working directly with community members, particularly women, girls, and youth.
∎ Strong facilitation, communication, and community mobilization skills.
∎ Experience in collecting and analyzing gender- and age-disaggregated data.
∎ Familiarity with donor standards on gender and youth (e.g., USAID Youth in Development Policy, Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Policy).
∎ Knowledge of local gender dynamics, youth challenges, and cultural sensitivities.
∎ Experience with safeguarding, Do No Harm, and inclusive programming approaches.
∎ Conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
∎ Capable of managing multiple priorities independently, demonstrating a problem-solving mindset with strong attention to details.
∎ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools. Hands-on experience with digital data systems, various communication tools, and modern IT systems is essential.
∎ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Bengali and English, with a proven ability to engage effectively across diverse cultural environments.
∎ Willingness to travel regularly to project sites, including rural or underserved areas.

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior.
∎ Assisting project/programme initiatives to provide professional advisory services to and cooperate with a broad range of target groups.
∎ Advise supervisor on all tasks when implementing GIZ rules and regulations.
∎ Advise supervisor in the field of project planning, steering and monitoring.
∎ Independently implement goals and requirements set by the line manager.
∎ Make decisions which have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit.
∎ Assist supervisor to identify day to day problems and suggest appropriate solution.
∎ Ensuring that youth and gender considerations are effectively integrated into the design, execution, and monitoring of project activities.
∎ Working closely with community members, project teams, and partners to implement inclusive, gender-responsive, and youth-driven interventions.
∎ Promoting the active participation of young people and ensuring gender-sensitive approaches are embedded across all levels of activity delivery
∎ Assist in the planning and delivery of project activities that are inclusive and responsive to the needs of youth and diverse gender groups.
∎ Mobilize and engage youth groups, women’s associations, and other stakeholders to participate in project activities and decision-making.
∎ Ensure that gender and youth considerations are integrated into all project components, including training, outreach, livelihood support, or service delivery.
∎ Facilitate training and awareness sessions for community members and partners on gender equality, youth rights, and inclusion principles.
∎ Collect disaggregated data (by age and gender), support M&E processes, and contribute to progress reports with a focus on gender and youth indicators.
∎ Support the establishment of feedback and grievance mechanisms that are accessible and safe for youth and women.
∎ Organize events, campaigns, or dialogues that promote youth leadership, gender equality, and social inclusion within communities.
∎ Work with implementing partners to build their capacity in gender- and youth-sensitive activity implementation.
∎ GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “Advisor- Forestry & Biodiversity” from candidates under "Connect’’ Project. This role will be crucial in ensuring youth and gender considerations are effectively integrated into the design, execution, and monitoring of all project activities. The Advisor will achieve this by working closely with community members, project teams, and partners to implement inclusive, gender-responsive, and youth-driven interventions, thereby promoting the active participation of young people and embedding gender-sensitive approaches across all levels of activity delivery.
