Additional Requirements:
  • At least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in compliance within the Bangladeshi garments/textile industry, including a minimum of 3–5 years in a leadership role.

  • Extensive and practical knowledge of Bangladesh labor laws, EHS protocols, international compliance standards, and major buyer code of conduct requirements.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and manage compliance teams in both factory and head office environments.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a high degree of professional integrity.

  • Proven proficiency in English and Bengali (spoken and written).

  • Advanced computer literacy in compliance management software, HRIS, and MS Office.

  • Experience working with ERP systems will be a distinct advantage.



Responsibilities & Context:
  • Strategic Compliance Leadership

    • Direct the full spectrum of compliance management, including implementation of Bangladesh labor laws, regulatory frameworks, and global social compliance programs (BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, etc.).

    • Oversee preparation for and execution of external buyer audits, internal assessments, and follow-up on Corrective Action Plans within defined timeframes.

    • Develop, refine, and enforce company compliance policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures to remain aligned with evolving statutory and buyer obligations.

  • Health, Safety & Environmental Stewardship

    • Ensure best-practice safety management systems across all sites, encompassing fire, electrical, machinery, and environmental safety.

    • Monitor, audit, and improve workplace health and safety conditions through regular inspections, risk assessments, and targeted training programs.

  • Social Compliance & Employee Welfare

    • Safeguard a work environment free of harassment, forced/child labor, and discrimination, as well as implement robust grievance redressal and employee welfare initiatives.

    • Facilitate the active functioning of Worker Participation Committees and ensure compliance communications across all levels of the organization.

  • Stakeholder Engagement

    • Serve as the primary interface for buyer representatives, third-party auditors, and regulatory bodies concerning all compliance matters.

    • Compile and present periodic compliance, audit, and risk assessment reports to senior management and clients.

  • Team Leadership & Capability Development

    • Lead and develop a high-performing compliance team, ensuring competency through continuous training and coaching.

    • Oversee compliance induction and awareness training programs for staff and workers.

  • Documentation & Records Management

    • Maintain comprehensive records of all audits, certifications, legal documentation, wage/OT records, licenses, and buyer-specific compliance requirements.

    • Ensure that necessary documentation is consistently up-to-date and audit-ready.

  • Continuous Process Improvement

    • Initiate and monitor sustainability and compliance improvement initiatives in accordance with organizational goals and buyer expectations.
