Job Context:
∎ Working title: Web Developer
∎ Employee group (Full time/Part-time/Limited/ Temporary/Consultant): Consultant
∎ Schedule (hours/days): 37.5 hours in a week starting from Sunday through Thursday
∎ John Hopkins Center for Communication Program (JHUCCP) Bangladesh is implementing "Durnibar" project with a view to ending child marriage in Cox`s Bazar. They are partnering with UNICEF in implementing this project at both the host community and Rohingya community. The campaign will combine a mix of approaches to prevent child marriage, including advocacy, capacity strengthening, gender sensitization, community mobilization, and digital products.
∎ The overall goal is to sustainably shift attitudes of families and communities toward child marriage and reduce the practice of child marriage in selected upazilas and Rohingya refugee camps in Cox`s Bazar. JHUCCP intends to introduce various digital interventions as significant awareness materials and platforms. These tools/materials/platforms will serve as knowledge hub for the people of Cox`s Bazar and will enhance their capacity as change makers for child marriage prevention at their localities.
∎ In this regard, JHUCCP seeks for consultancy support for the duration of 3 months (March- May 2023) for developing digital materials/platform and related products as per project requirements and in consultation with CCP program team.
∎ Time frame: Around 3 months based on the project activities requirement
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The consultant will work on a full-time basis following the scope of work mentioned below,
∎ Website and software application designing, building, or maintaining.
∎ Using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools, applications, and digital media.
∎ Conferring with teams to resolve conflicts, prioritize needs, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.
∎ Directing or performing Website updates.
∎ Developing or validating test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device types.
∎ Editing, writing, or designing Website content, and directing team members who produce content.
∎ Maintaining an understanding of the latest Web applications and programming practices through education, study, and participation in conferences, workshops, and groups.
∎ Back up files from Web sites to local directories for recovery.
∎ Identifying problems uncovered by customer feedback and testing and correcting or referring problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
∎ Evaluating code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, is properly structured, and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
∎ Determining user needs by analyzing technical requirements.
∎ Consult with the key persons from the website development process
∎ Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them to operations and activities
∎ Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Solid knowledge and experience in programming applications.
∎ Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and WordPress.
∎ Proficient in My SQL.
∎ Dedicated team player.
∎ Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
∎ Solid ability in both written and verbal communication.
∎ Knowledge of programming language and technical terminology
∎ Ability to communicate well in Excellent written and spoken English and Bangla. Proficient in Microsoft Office and editing software.
∎ An understanding of maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health; family planning; nutrition, and tuberculosis.
∎ Language Skills Must be excellent in English and Bangla is required.
